Everything they've approved so far looks weird. Remember the missing antenna from ThreeA REX? I think it's still missing on the half-scale figure .

I wonder if that was 3A's fault, but then again it needs to go by them first. I'd mainly blame Shinkawa on that since he designed it.

I remember Gimbat said, that ThreeA designed REX exactly as Kojima wanted. And if we wanted changes, we'd have to take it up with Kojima and not them .

So BBTS just listed half size Rex for preorder at $210. Shipping is $15 via fedex, so it's actually cheaper to buy from BBTS than Bambaland.

This is a bit off topic, but I was wondering, with Kojima's impending departure from Konami, do you guys think we'll still see as many MGS collectibles being released? I don't think he and Shinkawa did a very good job with approving game-accurate figures. But, regardless, they were very dedicated in promoting MGS collectibles for the past five years.

I've noticed, that aside from a few PAK figures like Skull Face and Quiet, there hasn't been any recent news of MGS figures.

Most definitely. Konami doesn't need Kojima's approval to license toys. All we can do is hope the new team will do a better job because admittedly, Kojima and Shinkawa don't really have an eye for accuracy so we definitely need someone OCD enough to work at Konami to get these figures made.

After seeing what Sean did, it's it really too much to ask for figures that actually looked like their in-game counterpart? Hot Toys could definitely pull it off, after how good the MGS3 figures were to match those 3DS renders. Someone just needs to rip the 3D models off the games, which is what Hot Toys did with their Iron Man figures if I recall.

I ordered it, although I may change my mind. The price is great.

Good idea, but Konami has no games anymore. Just look at them in the 90's. I figure the only way we're getting toys is if those franchises are alive.

It seems a waste to only do two figures from MGS2. I would buy a Olga Ninja too.

Finally got around to getting my Old Snake sculpt painted. Got it from Xenoviper and he did a great job. I will post pics when I get the figure finished.

I didn't get Big Boss myself. At the time there was no certainty with the jacket being made so I didn't risk it. A big mistake on my part. He's painting up another one for me with the Solid eye and Bandanna too so I got to find me a Medi figure for parts.

It really does...I feel after MGS1, they started seriously lowering the number of figures in each line. Originally 3 for MGS1 (now 4), 2 for MGS2, 1 (with numerous variants) for MGR I don't really count TPP's roster of PAKs because they are trying hard to capitalize on potential hype. I honestly thought we'd see some MGS 3 figures though...with their love for Big Boss at this point.

Price tag wouldn't bother me at all, considering it would be a grail of my collection.
