Yeah, no kidding.

Google image search :lol. Actually, it's from the official MGS 1 Wiki. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a 3D model viewer in either MGS 1 or VR Missions? The image probably originated from that...

I think the yamato gun is too big. I found a couple of guns that made the correct one in 1/6 scale from random figures. Hey plis, interested in selling the vest at all? Pm me.

Actually, the gun is supposed to be beefy. You can see it from the art work and the model viewer. I have a few MK23s from Dragon that I got from Ebay a while back. But, the silencers are tiny and don't hold up to the scale, that was from MGS 1.

Ah you guys posting pictures of the Gecco Big Boss statue are making me re-think anout passing on it now :gah:,
I actually like the way it looks now :lol
Might have to get me one :yess:

To get rid of any confusion, I just thought I'd share this comparison shot between my Yamato Socom pistol and Dragon MK23 (pardon my not taking the gun out of Bauer's hand, but it's a b**** to put back on.). You can see that both are the EXACT same size. So, yes, if you're in need of a Socom gun for a Snake custom, the one from Yamato will more than suffice.

I'd like to know what guns you got from Ebay, Jason - you probably didn't get the correct ones. MK23s are actually much larger that other 1/6 hand guns I have seen (like the USP Compact and Glock 17)

Yamato looks fine, does the slide work? Didn't you have a shot of it with the suppressor too?

And yes, the MK23 is a gigantic gun. That's why they developed the USP, since it's a more compact version of it.

The slide doesn't work on the Yamato Socom - it's just one piece (it works on my Dragon MK23, though). But, the detailing and laser attachment is more accurate on the Yamato one.

I think I accidentally deleted my images while I was quoting them yesterday :lol. Here they are again for good measure.

You guys need to drybrush the gun as well, makes a hell of a difference. Just study any HT gun and try to copy their weathering patterns if you're not sure what to do.

i havent gotten the stuff yet, well see. i still have the yamato figure, i just dont like how cheapo the gun looks.

Considering that the Socom comes from a 17 year old+ figure, I'd say it's pretty good in quality. Very similar to the guns I have from Enterbay and some of the bootleg guns that I've bought over the years. Plus, I was very surprised, that it's an accurate model of the Socom from MGS 1, down to the notches and grooves.

To put it bluntly: if the guns you've bought are indeed smaller than the Yamato Socom, and if they're not MK 23s, then you've bought the wrong guns.

That's not a bad idea, actually :lol. I'll probably use some Gundam markers to do it.
