When i collected kubricks i wanted that Tiger Stripe so bad but never found it.
Still have my Cold War camo kubrick.

i love this site cause i get to see people brag about their new find or the sweet hookups they get. also, i get to post my own. makes me mad that no one that i actually know gives a crap about MGS at all. at least i can come here at let it out. much appreciated guys. i know im new but i really like it here. pretty balanced opinions. also, im not as vested in the story as you guys are and i pick up a whole lot of info that i didnt know. metal gear wiki is pretty awesome but it takes forever to read through it.

No, I'm talking about the PAK version. I thought I remembered he had a terrible paint job on his face and that his joints were so bad that some peoples arms were falling off when they tried to pose him

I misread that as Naked Snake sorry. I had Zombie Face paint from MGS3 on the brain :slap

I don't believe they did. Although I didn't have any joint problems with mine, but he does look like a zombie. I couldn't tell you what batch it was, it was the first batch BBTS got.

Definitely, it's a great place to come and BS with MGS fans. Everyone I know "in the real world" thinks Solid and Big Boss are the same guy lol.

A year in the making.
Longest wip figure.
Finally happy with my Solid Snake.

That is a really nice looking Solid Snake. Though I imagined that he would have some kind of a wetsuit under his combat vest & gear. But I suppose it might be rather difficult to do if you want the figure to be articulated. Canvas works better. All in all nice and solid (hehheh) work.

I would also like to have more kubricks. I have only 3 and would like to have more Snakes and stuff.

As someone who owns Ambush I would say to lower your expectations for REX. I can't really see it turning out as well as we had hoped. Expect it to feel somewhat like a light weight, to have really tight joints, to not come with the batteries needed to do the light up features, etc...

No, our expectations are right where they should be = low

It's been nothing but bad news the last month and a half with all the bull**** with the head not being fully articulated. RAY will be no different. And Ash being MIA ever since the drop and no news on shipping, other than RAY I will never order another thing from 3A ever.

I'll reserve judgement for when I get it in hand, but if the build quality is as poor as you say it is, then I'll return it to Sideshow. There's no way that I'm keeping a $500 figure that's poorly constructed. This in addition to having a head that's incapable of moving sideways? Common ThreeA!! :slap

Did Play Arts Kai ever re-release zombie-face Solid Snake with a better paint job and more reliable joints?

I got mine from the first batch off amiami, no problems what so ever. must be luck of the draw or just the American batch? The only issue i have s the face sculpt and him being overly muscular

very nice job elvis. This is the best MGS1 Snake sculpt ive seen soo far :clap

Well 3A is an awful company when it comes to actual business practices. They are bad at keeping the fans informed, they have bad purchasing methods, they are terrible with delays, etc...

REX should still be pretty overwhelming when you get him though. Ambush definitely left me stunned by his immense height and Rex will likely leave us all shocked by the width, height, and length. Ambush cannot turn his head sideways either, but it makes sense to me given his boxing design.

Rex not being able to articulate the head is really lame though, but not really a deal breaker. Given the huge emphasis on the light up gimmicks they had for Rex I really hope he actually comes with the batteries.

My bigger fear is the tight joints. On Rex it might be really scary. It should still be an awesome figure, but not worth the money we spent on it.

EDIT: Solidus I am not saying it will have poor build quality please do not misunderstand. I don't want to go around telling people to fear this thing like it will be garbage. It's just that for the price point it really might not be worthwhile.

Please anyone interested go to the Aliens and Robots figure Ambush thread and read my review. It might give you an idea what to expect.

But basically I am a 3AA member so I got Ambush and Midas for about $245 each. Now compared to Hot Toys figures this is a great deal. You get Hot Toys Iron Man mk 7 for not much cheaper. Ambush is really awesome. He has limitations, but his strengths far outweigh them. Midas is going to be much better as seen from the production images and from the people who have gotten to mess with the prototype. He's the same price and it's going to be even more of a good deal.

The problem is Rex. I spent about $420 after that huge 3AA discount. That means he is almost twice the price of Ambush or Midas and I just can't see him justifying it. I am trying to keep an open mind at this point and I am hoping he will still be great.

I'm still hopeful that ThreeA will begin shipments this month. Sideshow said that they'll have it in stock in October. Crossing my fingers at the moment...

Yeah, that does sound like a big concern. Did your Ambush figure have its screw holes covered up? Or were they exposed to allow you to slacken or tighten the joints yourself?

About ThreeA's business practices: spending time on their forum will give the opposite impression of what you mentioned - like they're the best company in the world :lol.

Yeah that hipster community constantly diarrhea that out.

Just curious as to how any of you guys who have pre-ordered REX are planning on displaying him?
Planning to put it as MGS4 ver. as the railgun take too much space (60cm :slap no where to put THAT on display). Will be doing a custom display case (glass) with light-up base which will cost me around $162-194. And placing them on an IKEA's MALM cabinet.

Low ..? :monkey2 . Anyway, for better or worse - this will be an eye catching piece & we can still hope (can't we?). I'm quite annoyed with the repeated delay of REX as well, that latest update i got was that REX is coming around NOV 7 or 17. I was expecting 3A to outperform HT in many many ways as everyone (who collects) seems to L O V E them... Well, silly me.

Mid September has come and went and no word from 3A and no word on a date at all. **** 3A, once this dribbled out MGS line is over I'm done. At least with Hot Toys you don't need to drop the money upfront.

MALM cabinet? Curious.... but when I look at ikeas website it look like they are dresser drawers. You surely cannot be putting it in something like that, even if the front had glass cabinets. :monkey4
