LOL cannot unsee! its really david bowie )
Damn, the PA figures are all so...thick.
It's all about big muscle bodies and tiny heads.
It's good they are all sculpted that way so they at least fit together. I think the McFarlane figures were the best in terms of accuracy, despite the weak face sculpts.
Just to share, here is a pic of the tactical advisor for the MGS series with a former instructor of mine, six degrees of separation and all that.
I've always admired the level of authenticity of the military hardware and tactics of the MGS series - granted it isn't perfect and some of the stuff is dated, but they put more work into that than most of the military games and movies out there.
Something that stands out in my mind as far as recent stuff is Sam's sheath..it's an AR15 receiver used for the firing mechanism. That's so damn cool.
Shinkawa is written all over that.
It uses the explosion of the round to send the blade flying out to it can be drawn at lighting speed, which takes Raiden's arm off
Personally, I'd love a Blade Wolf and Sam - but mostly, I'm looking forward to MGS2 Snake and MGS4 Raiden right now, from Play Arts Kai.
One big question I'm having with Play Arts is whether they'd make the visors be poseable on a single head, if they'll create two heads (one open, one closed visor) or just go with a single, visorless head?
If they go with the 'poseable visors' idea, no idea how big the chance is, wouldn't it make sense to include a second head with the MGR starting look appearance to it?
she's so prettyRaiden PAK...anyone seen this? the colored version i mean
she's so pretty
I actually wish he had looked more like a she. Kind of like it would be faithful to the actual character, which everyone hates. The David Bowie-hairstyle solution doesn't change anything, other than prove Raiden-haters that they were right all along.
I'm honestly wondering how Square Enix can miss so badly (wait, scrap 'miss' - that would imply they actually had a chance to hit to begin with ) at a character that has several different concept designs to choose from. It's not like they -HAD- to interpret their own design for him; they basically had it lying around in the form of a 'HD-collection' artpiece. Ugh.
It's funny you mention the way he holds the pistol, that's actually something I've always liked about the series. In any good pistol CQB training they teach you to hold the pistol just like that to prevent someone from grabbing your gun in close-quarters. I've always liked how they get those details mostly right.
