That sculpt, for me, would be brilliant for a MGS2 Snake. I'd imagine the body, with all the clothes and armour, would be really hard to do though.

impressive Cloud,i hope one day to have a Big Boss figure from Ht or Enterbay with a much better likeness and quality than that Medicom Garbage. You got the likeness right, that looks exactly like Big Boss, well done :)

looking at that sculpt reminds me that hugh jackman would make a good snake if they ever made a movie. it looks great, good job on the custom

Pictures are the problem, actually. The main idea was that I promised a long time ago to post pictures of the mini-Shagohod that I got in Tokyo, but I have the worst camera of all time and most of the pictures were so bad that I gave up. What I posted was a camera-phone picture (I also have the worst camera-phone of all time :- ( ) of the Shagohod posed with my kitbash of Old Big Boss for scale. The Shagohod is essentially a micro-machine but it's still very nice. Not worth what I paid for it, though. The box was actually the best part of the deal for me- it's really purdy. It's what Big Boss and the Shagohod are standing on and the cover art looks like this

Really awesome.

As for my Big Boss Kitbash- I'll take pictures of it soon, with my horrible camera-phone, but it's really nothing to get excited about. I just bought lots of loose parts off of ebay- a gray suit set, an eyepatch from one of the Valkyrie/Stauffenberg figures, took the gloves off of one of my old BBI Falschirmjagers, the coat from "Franz Feigel," and...most embarrassingly of all, bought a Connery-looking headsculpt. Big Boss was based on Sean Connery after all, and the headsculpt doesn't look that much like Sean Connery so it passes for Big Boss without that much trouble. Plus it has some light scarring which I think Big Boss would definately have in his old age.
For me it suffices but when all of you see it you'll probably be a little disgusted. I think maybe the coat from Golgo 13 would've been better but that was out of my price-range when I made the kitbash. The problem with the coat I used is that the buttons have Wehrmacht eagles on them, since it was a German Officer figure that the coat came with. Also, I used the first suit I found. It looks nice but I'm sure there's something that matches the concept art/appearance in MGS4 for Big Boss. Plus, I didn't bother to change the white socks so my Big Boss has a Michael Jackson look going for him.

Picked up what has been, for me, the Holy Grail of Metal Gear collectibles today.

Damn Croc Cap has some kind of gooey glue-like substance inside, though, so no wearing for this guy.

Very nice haul! I've got the Zombie figure myself, and the croc has always been at the top of my want list.

Croc Cap Snake was the Holy Grail for my MGS figures as well! It took me months to save up for a new figure last year.

Do yourself a favor and find an air-tight display case for that thing. Since the prices for it have only been going up, you'll want to keep that figure in the best possible condition.

::INCOMING SHAMELESS PLUG:: I've got the entire 1st set of Metal Gear Solid figures (including stealth variants) released by McFarlane up for sale if anyone is interested! :D

I'm guessing that Medicom is probably working on increasing the edition numbers of those two Snake figures, due to their popularity - that's why they haven't been released as yet. I can't think of any other reason.

The only collectable from the MGS series that I have is the Soundtrack to MGS3 on vinyl from E3 a few years ago
For whatever reason, the Snakes are some of my favorite videogame characters. I would pay vast sums of money for Hot Toys versions.

I think they are coming soon. When that goodshipped place puts things up for pre-order, in my experience, that means it is coming soon. I'm not sure what was Medicom's preliminary estimates vs. Sideshow's vs. anyone else's, but Medicom has scarcely been known for promptness of releases following announcements. Thanks for the advice on storage, btw. If I had a vacuum sealed safe of some sort, I would strongly consider putting him there!

I figure his price will rise a slight bit once the re-releases come out (unless they re-release him, of course), and following any future MGS games featuring the guy, so I did feel compelled to buy him before these things happened, even though he wasn't cheap.

Hey guys, it's been years since I last posted a pic of my Medi Snakes collection, so here goes!

They were all made taller using custom leg extenders for better proportions. I also swapped the heads and I'm very pleased with the result!
I always thought it was silly of Medicom to have Snake wear the Zombie face camo with the red square uniform... Now I think it looks sweet on the Tiger Stripe uniform.

Oh and the regular head was repainted by Darren Carnall, he did a splendid job on that headsculpt :google

More pics will be posted soon ;)

Looking good Spidey! Squares camo Snake is the only one that I'm missing out of the original three, so I'll definitely have to get that one later on.

Hey guys, I just wanted to share my LBC of old Naked Snake himself BIG BOSS. I wanted to make a realistic version of him and since Sean Connery was the original inspiration for him I figured he'd work. I even included a picture of his old codec sprite. Also it's for sale in the commerce section. Thanks! :wave
