It's the worst part of the figure by far, in game hair would at least make him look like a soldier and not somebody who had stumbled into labyrinth

Nice pics though Jason, got any mod plans for Raiden?

Thanks frank. Raiden will have a black holster and trimmed hair. Ill be getting a 2nd raiden for a dual display so ill have 2 heads i can mod. I was even thinking of ripping the hair off like i did the mgrr raiden and maybe trying to resculpt it on there. I also was going to use paint thinner on the stock hair to make it a foggy clear so MAYBE itll look like his white hair. Just got him yesterday and my work area is a **** hole so ill be cleaning it up tonight. Im going to grab the thinner on the way home and give it a shot tonight, wish me luck! If all goes well hell have white hair and a black holster, well see how lazy i am later. Im not even weary to mod these things anymore.

Another project i want to do is to repaint the gold on the mgs1 ninja to the flat rose color and make a deluxe figure with the open faced head and the red ninjas tray. Ill also do the led mod to the closed head as well as paint the gold part on the back of both helmets. On another note red ninja will have an orange led behind the green lens. I did some research and to me thats the color that illuminates from red ninja on the original mgs and tts.

Another thing i want to do is put the blue leds on both sides of mgrr raidens sheath as well as craft a spine where he gets energy from with full lumen. Thatll be my baby because no one else has done it. I will also relocate ALL of the shath arms to the hip area as well as shorten them on the rest of the raiden team.

Looking forward to seeing it!

If they ever re-release Grey Fox i'll buy another and repaint it canon colourway too

How easy is it to shorten, most importantly tighten actually the joints on the sheath arm?

I would have sent you mine but the money it will cost to ship and whatnot from the UK makes it not worthwhile unfortunately

I'd try it myself though

Repainted Play arts look much better. At least Liquid and Raiden. Though they all have that kind of glossy finish. Most likely due the paint/ink washes they used to wash those faces. Or at least they look like washed to me. Same technique many use when painting small miniature figures etc.

Raiden looks better with that gimp mask, but I'll pass him anyways. I rather save money and buy Liquid or two. They could drop that base even though it was nice with MGR Raiden. He actually needs that IMO. But that base alone can't be reason for this current price hike, or if it is then that is just lame.

With the sheath arm you have to disassemble it and the 2 long pieces you can cut to length on the flat end. I cut mine at the last groove on the top edge using a exacto knife with a brand new blade heated with a lighter. I usually cut on some molded line so it looks nice. Then i taped a piece of sand paper to the desk and sanded them to the desired length and shape. Same with the smooth pegs that went into them on the double hinge. Use a small dot of glue on the peg that goes into whats left of the hole, those 2 articulations are just so unnecessary. For the actual sheath to snug in any position i always put a tiny bulb of superglue on the end of the peg and let it harden, this will allow the peg to be slightly thicker and the sheath should just squeak on tightly. Youre welcome. As far as remounting it to the hip you can but little finger drills at the hobby shop, id bring the peg with you so you can get a slightly smaller drill unless youre buying a set. Theres a perfect spot for the hole between 3 connecting muscles on the bottom of his ribs that has 0 affect on articulation, youll see it.

Please...

Everytime

Although I will admit he isn't very soldier like

It's definitely not cheerleader hair though

I never cared for Raiden anyways even in cyborg form

It wasn't literal :lol I meant MGS2 Raiden looks ugly IMHO and the haircut doesn't help

Even this is better, and its barely different:

but anyway yeah, I never cared much for Raiden either, but I'm glad they changed his look

So I really hate PAK anymore. I got my MGS2 Raiden today and one of the shoulder joints (the ones that let it rotate towards the chest) was stuck. I couldn't get it to move and the damn ball joint on the arm snapped right off. I took a heat gun to get the forward shoulder joint loose and then stretched the plastic around it a bit so it wouldn't get stuck again. Then I drilled a hole through the ball joint and the arm and screwed those back together. I used a heat gun to soften up the socket for the ball and plugged it in there. It all works like new and you can't even tell it ever was broken, but it still pisses me off. This is the 5th PAK I've gotten with something screwed up on it.

I work at a comic shop and our distributer had 3A Ray so I got excited thinking I could get him for cost but get this his cost is $450 with a recomended retail price of $480!! Why would any retailer take a risk like that for $30 of prophet? The cost goes down the more you order but the lowest was $409 and you had to get 12! Absolutely stupid.

So, did your store order any figures? You can probably get RAY for below MSRP if you buy it on Ebay, right after it hits retail.

REX wasn't a huge seller at first, and I'm sure it'll be the same with RAY.

No the owner said he wouldnt get one unless he could make at least $100 0n it. He did hower ever order me a Raiden and Liquid PLay Arts so I will only have to spend $60 on them other wise I probably wouldnt get them.
