Is Snake the fifth Turtle now? Awesome! :lol

Here's an IGN interview yesterday with David Hayter. It's truly mind-boggling how he's not involved in the movie in any way, shape or form :slap. Seriously, screw Konami.

And if he hits the gym a little, he would make a perfect Solid Snake on screen :lecture (if his acting in Guyver was any indication).

David Hayter Talks Wolves, X-Men Reboot, Black Widow Solo Film, Metal Gear Solid and Lost Planet Movies - IGN

IGN: Obviously, we're huge on Metal Gear Solid here. That big screen version of it seems to be heating up. I know Avi Arad is one of the producers, and they've hired Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the guy who did Kings of Summer, to direct. Obviously the fans would love you to be Solid Snake. Have they talked to you about that? Or are they going to keep the games and their storylines separate from the movies? What are your thoughts overall on how to do a Metal Gear movie right? Any bit of advice you might give these guys?

Hayter: No, nobody's talked to me about it. Avi and I talked about the movie, oh, I don't know, maybe eight or 10 years ago, but it didn't come together. They weren't able to close the deal with Sony at the time. So I don't know what they're going to do with it. Whatever they do, I hope they keep it true to the spirit of what Metal Gear is, because it's such a remarkable and unique world. I'm certainly up for playing Solid Snake, but nobody's banged on my door about that yet.

IGN: What are, let's say, the one or two things they absolutely have to nail to make the Metal Gear movie right?

Hayter: Well, I think there's a certain tone. It's scary, it's suspenseful, it's big. It feels like these events impact the whole world. There's a highly intricate soap opera quality to the intertwining of the relationships. There's a lot more betrayal and suspicion of the government and the people that are your direct superiors on behalf of Snake. The mission is never what he's told that it is. He's never given all the information. In the end, it's always about one man who puts his life on the line to save the world, whether he's following orders or not. I think those elements are important. I think the level of detail and reality and prescience that Hideo Kojima puts into those games -- like in the first Metal Gear Solid, the way he predicted the Human Genome Project and the ways in which we would be reprogramming our DNA, proved very prescient. In Metal Gear 4, he was talking about privatized military companies, like Blackwater and whatnot. All of these things have come to pass. So I think that is always intrinsically interwoven into Metal Gear's stories. Of course, you need a giant walking battle tank at the end, or it's just not Metal Gear.

IGN: I do want to ask you about the Black Widow project that I remember you were developing when it was at Lionsgate. What are your thoughts on the way Black Widow has become this breakout character in the Marvel Universe and Scarlett Johansson's performance? A lot of people want to see a female superhero movie, and Marvel's not announced the Black Widow movie, but if they were going to do one would you want to get involved again?

For the record though, David is a pretty busy guy with his screenwriting and directing career. He's said it again and again, he only does MGS for the fans and it's not where he derives his income from. If Konami abandons him, good luck in keeping Kiefer as a Snake regular for years to come. That is, if Kiefer really is Snake in MGSV..

I'm still shaking man. I can't even type properly.

I think my trick was that I was unknowingly using worn out controllers for my PS3 all this time. I have two and they're both loose and sticky (thanks to the Arkham City and MGS2 plat on my previous account). So out of the blue, I went to my display cabinet, got out the "Only for display" Hagane MGS4 controller and bam! Only 4 tries! The controller had a night and day difference!

I beat all of Arkham Asylum's challenge maps in one day two days ago, that must have taken its' toll on the controller as well. :lol

Btw, if you wanna try out that mission without going trough all the crap of unlocking it, simply key in UUDDLRLRBA when inputting your username, it will unlock ALL of the missions.

MGS2 is truly a mountain climb of a game to plat but I've gotten it before on my old account. I can tell you the satisfaction of getting is truly priceless.

Frank and I are both going for the plat at a snails' pace. Wish us luck. :lol

Arkham Aslyum actually had problems with my old controller too during my LP, I needed to switch to a new one for the Riddler Challenges, Joker end game fights and everything. It's weird, it was my second controller (first one had a dislodged joystick) that I got only in 2011.

I agree, old controllers work fine and and all but for games that needs lightning fast reflexes you'll need a new, sturdier controller. I does make a difference.

Btw I saw you AA challenge rank, you're better than Solidus an I combined. :clap

Wanna do some VR Missions, though? :monkey3

Well done man FINALLY :rock

It'll not be long before I have to go back and do it :(

I'm stuck on extreme vamp atm going for the blue wig but I haven't looked at a walkthrough on the web yet. Then it's onto the dreaded VR mountain :lol

Thanks Frank, it truly put the fear of God in me. I'm done with Tuxedo Snake and about 30 something percent on MGS1 Snake.
Anyway, here ya go. You're welcome.

Also, I can't believe I got trough MGS1 Grenade Level 5:

Oh it wasn't even for the fights alone - for some reason that controller screwed around during the sequencer things :lol it happened periodically in my LP. I got tired of it so I switched it. I could probably make do with my old one but I'm using the one that came with my new PS3. I had the old SIXAXIS without rumble that had its joystick get dislodged somehow, I know it happened before I got into God of War >.> then I got my new one, a blue rumble one, for Dead Space and other games and then that started messing up somehow. So I'm using the new black rumble.

....is that true? I actually have a better rank than you guys? Wow, I didn't expect that. TY though.

Dear god I dunno about VR :lol I'm still attempting DMC 3's Dante Must Die and then later going to try and S-Rank that, and then DMC4's Dante Must Die. And attempting Arkham City's Platinum...

Yeah, you do. You can check how you stack up against your friends by clicking square on the challenge maps in Arkham Asylum. I'm seriously getting to old for reflex heavy games.

Arkham City's Plat is about as difficult as MGS2's so I'm holding off on that for last in my "re-earn all my previous platinum trophies on my stupid new account" run. The challenge maps are BRUTAL.

Actually, there are only a handful of painfully difficult VR Missions in MGS2, the top 3 anyone would unanimously agree on are Snake Variety Level 4, MGS1 Snake Grenade Level 5 and MGS1 Snake Variety Level 1. The remaining 497 missions doesn't come close to Arkham's Challenge Maps. And the VR missions are actually tons of fun to play.

I think it's a nice idea for your channel, going in VR in a blind playtrough. :lol

I've never cursed as much in my life, or threw as much of a Hulk rage as I did when playing the Challenge Maps of Arkham City. I even broke a controller in the process. At the end of my plat... I felt like going to confession, even though I'm not Catholic :lol.

:mwaha

Oh man, the memories. Top of the World Extreme, anyone? And those modifiers were truly a pain in the neck. Just like MGS2, I think I cried when that Platinum trophy popped.

I'll take a look maybe. MGS 2's Plat I have no idea when I'll ever get, if ever. But I'm gonna google those VR missions.

And no I'm not doing the VR for YouTube :lol
What?! I will fight you, bro.
Oh yeah? Bring it on!

...I'm gonna sound like a ****, and so cocky, but uhhh....I didn't have that much of a problem with Arkham City's challenge maps :lol don't get me wrong, the Extreme Predator Maps can go blow Harley but the combat ones (especially Funhouse Extreme, god that is one of my recent favorite things to replay over and over) are very fun, nothing really that bad. It gets...addictive :lol I had problems adapting at first but I got the hang of it.

But my biggest problem is not just the difficulty in the Extreme Predator Maps, it's the Predator Maps NOT properly giving you a medal for some things. I had to re-do Top of the World in particular because some of them didn't register. Some of the regular ones gave me problems too.

You guys should try S-Ranking Devil May Cry 3 on Dante Must Die, or S-ranking the game in particular. Pliss and I can tell you, it's not easy.

Thanks man, i plat'd MGS3 on the PS3 yesterday, piece of cake man did it on the first run through. I had a small amount of trouble with the Kerotans you have to shoot while moving on the motorbike i the woods after the runway bit but only took about an hour for that whole bit

I will get on with finishing MGS2 extreme tonight if i can then i gotta do the VR missions too
