Probably just going to get armored bats from this line. Looks great!

yeah, that version looks quite nice. the normal suit on the other hand doesn't work for me. i'm just not a fan of 1/12 figures having cloth outfits. i don't think it scales well. now, if a 1/12 figure has a cloth accessory or something, i can get over it. but not in this instance.

I felt exactly the same, until we got the Judge Dredd in at work. Now I am ALL IN for Batman and the batmobile.

^^ I felt the same about 1/12 clothes until I gave the One:12 TDKR and ThreeA Action Portable lines a try. It can be done well.

That said you're allowed to just not like it—I know a lot of people who really dislike superdeformed figures, for example, even though excellent SD figures like Master Made's products are on the market.

I agree. Granted, Mezco's TDKR figures were my first experience with higher end action figures, but they nailed it.

Honestly I enjoy them more than 1/6-scale. Less to fiddle around with, more fun to play with. I almost dislike that Batman is so well-done because it makes me sound like an applause machine for this company :wink1:

You know, folks complain when things aren't up to their expectations. It's only right to praise when things meet/exceed our expectations. I hate to admit it, but if Mezco produced a 1:6 version of their Dark Knight Returns figure, I'd pay $300 for that thing. I'd hate myself just a little bit and then enjoy the hell out of that thing every time I walked past it, lol.

haha! I hear that. I don't know if that holds true for me. As soon as you bump things into 1/6-scale, expectations rise—more sculpted detail in places, potentially different proportions since the Mezco figure looks a little hunched, etc. I think the two things on this figure that would 100% hold up if just scaled up are the suit (very flexible and hardy) and the cape (ingenious combination of materials to give it a better drape effect). Not sure otherwise, but then again I have yet to see a 1/6-scale TDKR Batman that makes me do a double-take (no offence meant towards the incredibly talented custom figure makers out there).

EDIT:
I was wrong. There are incredible ones out there. That is all.

I am a 1/6 collector but this line is making me think I can get the Batman v Superman figures from this line and be content on skipping Hot Toys offerings. They are great quality...price isn't killer..and you can pose the crap out of them without feeling like your going to break them. I'm very excited with what they are doing with this line!!

I'm like 99% 1/6 but I was so impressed with the DK I'm all in with Mezco. Honestly my biggest concern with the 1/6 DOJ Batman is the rubber suit, lack of posing and weird joint bunching. These little guys though understandably not the detail of their big brothers are just plan fun. Shazam, Green Arrow... Holy cow. Just fantastic.

The suit isn't rubber though....

I have no idea what the HT figure is made of, but it doesn't look like a cloth material to me. With the way the arms are bent in some photos and how the material bunches up it strikes me as something closer to rubber then not. I feel like if it were cloth it would be more form fitting, which it doesn't really look like it is. Could just be my eyes, though.

I'm with you Chuck. Looks like rubber. I guess we will wait and see. Pleasantly surprised if it is cloth.

Anyway... Looking forward to my Mezco Batman and Superman DOJ!

That is a surprise. Looks rubber. If this is the case good news.

Looks exactly like rubber to me.

Look at the seams at the shoulders, under arms, clavicle and down the sides on the HT figure. You don't sew rubber. Many ppl initially thought the red on the AMS1 Spider-Man was rubber when in fact it was screen printed.
