hmmmm. I don't know. All these variants are starting to turn me off.

Last year when they showed the main three versions, I only wanted the PX and the regular black.

But then at Toy Fair, when they started showing the final products and hyping them up, I got suckered in and went ahead and ordered the Mezco Ex just to "have them all."

Of course...I didn't "have them all" cause I'll never have the B+W version. And I'll also never have the Puerto Rico version.

And I don't even WANT this battle-damaged version. And I certainly don't want multiples of the Mutant Leader. I was kind of on the fence about him as it is, considering he's likely going to retail for $100 here in Japan and he simply doesn't look worth it. Do I really want to see a figure with creepy pointy nipples on my shelf every day?

I mean, I LOVE Dark Knight Returns...but I should have just trusted my instincts in the first place and stuck with just the two Batmen.

I knew Mezco liked to pump out variants but this is ridiculous. Count me in the camp that's lost interest simply due to the unattainable or uneccessary variants.

(Meaning I'll probably be unloaded my MISB Mezco Ex at some point.....)

What's so bad about them releasing small batches of pointless variants for cons?.

1. you don't have to own them all.
2. there are people out the who probably appreciate these small second chances cause they missed out initially, for example I bet this figure is impossible to get in Puerto Rico.

They are covering demand that exists, at least a little, so why is this bad? Because you can't collect them all? if it means getting more money for new tooling for a new figure, bring it!

Yeah I love them, but then again I pretty much only collect batman stuff (especially dkr), so I can focus my attention on it. I just try not to stress myself over the ones I can't really have, like the pr con variant.

Well, ever since I was a kid and the back of the Kenner Star Wars figures demanded me to "COLLECT THEM ALL!!" I've always wanted to...you know...collect them ALL.

Of course it's not always possible or a smart idea. But when a line like this is just starting out, based on the single greatest comic book of all time, it sounded like fun to have ALL the variants.

Now I know I can't have them all, so it just took the "fun" out of it. Not the end of the world or anything. I still have the main two that I wanted which are actually the two easiest ones to find. Although I'd have preferred the darker cape on the oval version...but what can I do? That's when it started getting more frustrating than fun, so now I'll just be more selective.

After a few tries I finally got it to go thru Paypal. . Does this gets charged right away or just before it ships?

I read on another forum that people were getting it to work using paypal. I'm trying to use my CC and having no luck what so ever. I'm about to give up. I don't really need this set anyway.

I got an error the first few times then cleared my cart. When I tried again a few minutes later it went through just fine. I have missed out on all previous versions and love the display base that comes with this which makes it a really nice set IMO. Not to mention being limited to only 1,000 pieces. Do you have any idea how crazy the scalpers will be over this at SDCC? I would hate to try to get it there. Big thumbs up to Mezco for doing this pre-order for non-attendees!

I tried last night with no luck, but it worked fine this morning. I got the Mezco exclusive version before. I was not planning on getting another. But this set is really fun, and frankly I wouldn't have gotten the Mutant Leader on his own.

Yea this set is grabbing my attention to 1/12 scale figures. Since I started collecting it's been all hot toys but I'm loving this batman. Poses so nicely and has good quality about them
Can't wait to get this

Not sure what other variant they could do after this, maybe a cowl-less sculpt with Bruce Wayne head? And of course a batman in armour ready to fight superman, I imagine that would sell really well.

I have a custom of bats in armor coming my way soon. But I'll still pick up Mezco when they release it of course. Hopefully it would come w/alternate damaged Wayne head.

i think in the animation its accurate to the first battle, bats suit and symbol. as others pointed out he should have oval for it to be comic accurate. i fully expect that once the single boxed leader drops there will be single boxed bd bats of other vers like with oval and with dark blue.

still glad i got set tho, will be fun and the base looks cool. i would pay 100 for that bats alone, matches up to one of the covers of the comic, spot on.
