I'm really digging this figure. I didn't plan on picking him up, I've never owned anything Mezco before. The one 12 line has intrigued me, but the price and scale always kept me away since I'm used to NECA figures. But, I've been really wanting a '78 Myers in my collection and the options have been limited. I got the opportunity to see this figure in person at a local store and once I saw it I had to pick it up. There are things I could nitpick about him, but I think overall it's pretty solid. The sculpt of the mask is pretty good, it looks far better than the old NECA version, and I like the hair sculpt as well. The only detail missing is the split in the back of the neck. There is a very small molding seam across the front of the hair that bugs me a little, but for now I'm not going to try and trim it off. Maybe after a few months and the sting of the price has went away, IDK. The coveralls are solid, I like the material they used. In hand they don't look as blue, but they seem to photograph more blue than they really are. Be sure to pop his collar up, it makes a huge difference and really makes him look so much better. The articulation is nice, sure he doesn't have double elbows, but I think he's more articulated than some people think. The elbows were very tight when I got him out of the box, once I used a hairdryer to loosen them up they move just fine and bend enough to get the poses I want. Plus the wrists do hinge pretty well if you adjust the fit of the hands. Speaking of which, I love the hands he comes with. Very well sculpted and painted, and just enough flexibility. His boots are also spot on, I'm glad they got that detail right. His knives are ok, I did touch up the blood on the bloody knife. I think the knives could be better to be honest. The size and shape of them seem off and they look a little too plastic to me. The Jack-o-lantern is fantastic, great sculpt and the light up feature is awesome. The tombstone is nice, it looks realistic and is well painted. It didn't need to be polystone, but it works. The ghost sheet head is cool to have, but I think it could have been better. The glasses are spot on, and the fabric seems right, but I don't like how the sheet isn't hemmed. It just seems cheap when you get it out of the tray and there's threads hanging already and it's fraying in the box. I will try fray checking it when I can pick up a fresh bottle and trim those threads off. It's also a bit awkward trying to pop that head on, I agree with some of the reviews that the plastic shell underneath seems a bit unnecessary but maybe it serves a purpose.
Overall I'm glad I got him, not sure if I'll pick up any more from this line, but I'll wait and see what else they do. The upcoming Jason looks promising.
