Here's a recent pic of Shatner in a repro of the chair:

Allowing for old age we can get a good idea of dimensions there, so which current chair is closest?

Looking at that pic, I'd probably say that the AA is the winner in my eyes. When I can I'll post a pic of mine, because after some finessing I've gotten Jim sitting really well in it.

I know what you mean. When I first heard about them I had reservations, particularly after seeing what NECA had done with Mego scale figures. However, when I saw Michael Crawford's review of Spock I was sold. I can't wait for the rest of the line.

How many Trek figures did you see!? There are only 3 on release, Spock, Sulu and Kirk. If you saw any more than that these are future releases and we'd love to know what they were.

Hey Rogerbee, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I only saw the 3 you mentioned: Kirk, Spock and Sulu at NYCC. And it's one thing to see them in pictures, but it's a whole other world seeing them in person! I had seen the pictures too, and they look great, no doubt about that. But seeing how tiny the figures are in real life and the amount of sharp detail they were able to achieve is simply mind blowing.

That it is,

I'm sure we'll see more sometime, but, it could be that they have already filled the calendar for this year. Roll on 2017!

Kirk has arrived. Don't look at me like that ;) I was seriously afraid of breaking his elbow joint when I tried to turn it without seeing what I was doing. So I took off the shirt. Classic Kirk pose! Sadly I realized too late that I had forgotten to put up my usual background, which makes the pictures look better.

I think the phaser rifle is a bit too big for him. I have one from the Diamond Select Kirk, which is larger than the Mezco Kirk, but his rifle is shorter. I shall try it one day.

"Anything you can do, I can do better..."

The Art Asylum/Diamond select toys captains chair actually works pretty good with these Mezco figures.

Just got Spock and Mirror Spock and without a doubt the regular Spock is one of the finest 6 inch figures I have ever seen, the sculpt is magnificent and the clothes look dead on... Mirror Spock is awesome too but his clothes look a little bit too big and toylike but his sculpt is dead on too.
All in all I am really getting obsessed with Mezcos right now and since McCoy was a bit older than the others he is bound to have a sculpt on par with Spock

Here is a quick shot of the Mezco figures with the old art asylum chair.

the Horta and engineering display backdrops from the Diamond select/AA select line work well too.

Is it me or does it feel like the line just came to a grinding halt? Maybe we'll get some new sneaks at Toy Fair in NYC.

It took that Barnes & Noble sale with Quantum Kirk at nearly half price to decide which way I was going...

I tweeted mezco, praising the first three and asking about Bones, and got the reply "wait and see at toyfair" with a winking smiley.... More next year it seems. I think three a year is fine for my budget.
