That sucks, I've only ever read JP and The Lost World, but I've enjoyed movies and TV shows he's been involved with. Another fine artist lost this year.

OMG. This is terrible news. I didn't even know he was sick.

I've been a huge fan of his for years... Westworld was a favorite as a kid as as The Terminal Man. I suppose most people will remember him for Jurassic Park and E.R.

My favorite book of his has to be Travels though. Such a great book about traveling, what it mean and how it can transform your spirit. It's an autobiographical book and meant a lot to me when I first read it. I highly recommend it.

Very sad indeed. Jurassic Park was one of the first books I ever read (not something for school) and really opened a new world for me.

Wow, now this is a major loss. I just saw his book Prey the other day and was wondering when the next book would be released.

The father of Jurassic Park has died. We must mourn this loss.

I couldn't believe it when I saw it on a news site. He's my favourite author, always felt like I was learning something as well as being entertained :(

was only thinking today I wish they'd reboot Jurassic Park to make it closer to the source novel (I do know he re-wrote the novel for the film)

I'm so sad to hear this. I've read almost all of his books and I was hoping a new one would come out soon. I loved his ability to weave fact and fiction together in a way that it made me question what was real and what wasn't and question how close to reality the obviously fictional stuff may be.

Strewth, that's a surprise, never read any of his books, but he obviously had a unique imagination for real 'science' fiction.

No.... :monkey2

Damn, I was a huge fan of his. I absolutely loved his books, JP was the first novel I read on my own when I was a kid. He will be sorely missed... :duff
