Yeah, Keaton turning down the role had nothing to do with a concern over being typecast.

I remember reading an interview back in the day that said just that, he was afraid he would be stuck in that character for the rest of his life. He jokingly commented that he was afraid he'd be relegated to mall openings and birthday parties dressed up like Batman.

Well that's a nice PC thing to say publicly instead of "I turned it down because the idiots at WB wanted to make it all bright and shiny." It would have been bad form to badmouth the upcoming sequel. Years after the fact when that series has long since been rebooted? Not so much. :)

I rather see him play Beetlejuice again. A Batman Beyond film would be cool too, but that only works if the guy playing old Bruce Wayne played Batman already. Keaton could do it, but Bale or Affleck are the better choice, imo. Either way, it's not going to happen...at least not for another 15 to 20 years :lol

No thanks. I think Burton's done all he can do with Batman. Returns got too cartoonish ... and his movies have gotten even moreso since then. I actually think Keaton would be an interesting Dark Knight Returns version of Batman. I just don't think Burton would do it justice. I'd rather have Keaton without Burton.

Not a chance it'll happen, anyway, because (1) DC isn't going to have two Batman franchises running simultaneously, and (2) if they were going to go backward, they'd probably go for Bale/Nolan over Keaton/Burton.

Plus audiences have gotten used to a Batman who doesn't (personally and deliberately) kill. Going back to a version that does would create a rift in the space/time continuum.

Hamill, Fisher and Ford in VII. Keaton wanting to do Batman. What's next?

Keaton doesn't give two *****s about batman. He just needs the cash. I read an article where he doesn't even watch these movies, not even his own batman movies. I wouldn't give him a chance to reprise batman.

He owns a 1,000-acre Montana ranch, I doubt he's strapped for cash. :lol

Who cares if he's never watched any of the movies and doesn't have an interest in them? A lot of these actors don't like to watch their own films. You don't have to be a fan of something to play that character.

Keaton rules, I watched need for speed the other night and he appeared in it, movie is auto 9/10 coz of him.

Keaton is fantastic and his career I think is on an up-swing. It started with cameos in movies like The Other Guys, and now with Birdman getting a lot of hype. If he's willing to do Wayne/Batman, I'll watch it.
