I'm seeing a little tom selleck in that scuplt.

That's so funny. I thought the same thing too about the hatted sculpt. But only at a glance. You have to look past the porn stache.

The sculpt is DDL all day. Maybe the tweaks were a bit too minor though. I still see a lot of Bill. Definitely not a bad thing though.

Have to say, really not feeling that hatless sculpt.

Not sure why as it is beautiful, but there is something lacking, (perhaps more expression), to reflect the character.


This certainly doesn't approach Bill levels for me so I am glad I don't have to choose between them.

I have this issue any time I try to go to threads with images of his stuff or links to his website. I ignore it, but I'll admit it has me worried.

I suppose so , I guess I just feel a little underwhelmed with the clothing set accessories. I really saw that shotgun as part of this look and there's no chance I can swing a full set, I think knowing the shotgun isn't included I'd have actually also preferred the outfit some of the other guys were hoping for.

Yep, that makes perfect sense. With no shotgun included it just doesn't make it tempting enough to buy the clothing and head set which I normally do buy. I will also have to pass. Maybe I might spring for just the painted head this time but I doubt it.

Just saw the official pics. Looks fantastic The headsculpt is amazing!

But the clothes really throw it off. I think it's just because the jacket is the wrong colour.

I will be passing on this, but I might pick up a painted headsculpt.

____ing amazing. Few minor nits. Weather the hat, brown straps for shotgun, Less red color in the wood of the gun and more grey weathering on the barrels, and the vest cut is being corrected. Couldn't be happier.

All very valid nits and pretty necessary improvements. Especially the salty sweat marks on the front of the hat.

So will he be coming with the tie, watch chain & pens? He wears the same suit for 4 scenes straight. He's not wearing these items in only the first of these scenes(outdoors). The next 3 he has them.

Starts: from the begining of the Sunday ranch scene("quail hunt"/earthquake oil) (no tie/chain/pens)

to

pitch to Mr. Sunday(dinner table w/ Eli)

to

the realtors office("can everything around here be gone?")

to

the public phone house at the trainstation("Paul Sunday turned out to be a good friend of ours")

I'm bumping this to get your thoughts. I think adding the pens and watch chain would really improve this guy and help over look how off the jacket is. As broken down above, he wears the same suit for 4 short consecutive scenes. Most of them he's sporting the jewlery. I know it's late in the game for this. I'm only mentioning this at this point because another boardie noticed(late in the game as well) that Bill was missing a knife in the promo pics. He brought this to Rainman's attention, and the extra knife and sheath were added to the belt. If that wasn't brought up, Bill would have been sold with 4 knives.

@ ROBBIE- you might be right about the shotty. It's hard to tell b/c the only pic that can show scale has the barrel cut off.

But Rainman isn't going for that scene where he has pens and a pocket watch.

I think it's a great idea if they're removeable. In all of those scenes he's wearing the same get up. I'm not saying the chain should be attached to the vest. But having the option covers all scenes where he wears this outfit.

And technically he never takes his hat off in the out door scene(he does at the dinner table), the promo pic on p. 71 that keeps getting used never really appears in the movie, and we're getting a bowling pin....

If it looks like that in hand then greatBut there is still something about the outfit that makes it almost unrecognisable as the quail hunt suit. Hard to explain.

Even if the pics aren't showing the true in hand color, it's still going to have that heavy contrast in any light.

IDK man. If I do this will be the most unexciting, reluctant, must have purchase I've ever made in my life It's a must have because it's D.P. and it may be the last time we see an offering like this, but I'm underwhelmed over all. I've never been on the fence this bad.

Pens and a watch chain could win my heart tho What's your take on that idea?


And like I said, this pic with him craddling the open shotgun that this figure seems to be modeled on, isn't in the movie. Unless there is a directors cut with extended footage. But on my DVD, there is no point in that 7 minute scene that I can pause it and get that shot.
