Went to the store today and some guy was scanning dvds in and on top of one of the stacks was TWBB for 6 dollars.

It was calling me out so I went ahead and bought it. Will try to watch it tonight.

You still haven't watched it!?:cuckoo:

Jks, I understand it's hard to find time with kids and all:1-1:

Have you ordered a set?

I was wondering what's next.

Know Anton Chigurh won the consolidated report but I must say he is probably the most boring choice to me.

Really hoping for a Bickle or a Duke or a Torrance. Especially Torrance actually for Halloween time.

If I understand correctly you too passed on Plainview?

Fully agree. Great movie but honestly he would be a boring figure.

Duke?:dunno I'm hoping for either Bickle or Ringo. I would buy either one:yess:

Yes I passed on this one. Duke is Raoul Duke from fear and loathing in las Vegas. :)

Torrance would be perfect timing for the next release! Good shout Tim.

so has anyone ever used bill me later to buy from rainman? It gives me the option then when I got to do it, it says I cant use that method of payment.

I just want to make sure I don't get a bill a month from now after that.

I would agree that Anton would be a boring figure, but only in the sense that there isn't much you can do with him.

If his cold bloodiness can be captured then it will be epic!
There can't be a hint of a smile on Anton's HS.
He has to look like the bad ass mofo with a total disregard for life that he is.

Anton would be BONKERS! Sometimes I don't get all this emphasis on "shelf poppers" and dramitic contrast as defining terms of what's boring and what's not. I mean of course I get it, but I'm saying. Bateman, Anton, Jules & Vincent, dudes from Heat plus a few more like them are MUST haves to me. Just because you can't spot them from across the room at first glance, or they're not rockin' a Pennywise clown suit, doesn't make them boring in my eyes.

They are a lot of "less elaborate" figures that are top priorties on my list. For the main resson that the character/movie/preformance is that important to me.

If rainman could nail the likeness, he would kill Anton. Would love to see him taclke this, even if his outfit is drab in color. He would bury the quality of all the Brother Production accessories: shotgun/sliencer, detonator, captive bolt pistol(tank). Plus of course a BIG one they forgot...a coin.

IDK I just think it's the sculpt and accessories for guys like Anton and Bateman that would make them over the top, epic figs :dunno

Pop it's a lost cause. Trust me, it's all I heard for years with Plainview. Some people just want pimp suits. I don't subscribe to the idea that you collect because of an outfit. I collect because of my interest in a character, not his costume designer's outfit selection.

Would really be an interesting one. Accessory typewriter. :)

Getting quite tempted by this now.....

Problem is I cannot have more than one character per actor in my collection and already own Bill.

:exactly: Why I would neeeevvver sell my doc, I wanted the character and I got him! and and I don't need no Ringo to complete him.

I can definitely relate to that, but I have made an exception with J.Depp, I have always wanted to complete a Jack, Sweeney and Edward display.

:lol Sheeiiit I love a good pimpsuit myself from time to time :D Show me a top quality Flyguy with fish tank platforms from I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, and I'm dropping Rainman money. But yea, I see your taste and I know that you know some of the most important icons in cinematic history weren't wearing Joker suits. But of course some were :).

Anyway I hope you know, my rally to show how many people wanted a different outfit for Plainview was never meant with bad intent. The choice made zero sense to me, same like plenty of others who just decided to pass in the end. And I know that this is probably the last collectible that is an important must have for you. My intentions we're never to undermine or disrespect that, we just didn't agree on the look is all. Hope there's no hard feelings.

I'm just throwing that out there because the end result of the fig is pretty awesome although still not my top choice. And I think that you and Teddy played a part in why this guy got done. Whether it was a substantial amount, or the smallest amount of influence, I think you guys may have been a part of why this awesome piece exist today so SALUTE :duff

purely for the sake of discussion here... no argument intended (i.e., civilized conversation - i know how things get on here).

for me personally, it's not about whether a suit is pimp or looks catchier or whatever, it's whether it gives the most memorable and iconic portrayal of the character, e.g., i have vince and jules in their "boring" black suits because that's what i equate them with most. i think the end plainview result is actually much more eye-catching than the charcoal suit but i (personally) always think of plainview in the charcoal suit. for doc, the ringo duel scene was a great scene, but it's not really iconic doc. doc was the quintessential smooth-talking dandy. most legends have portrayed him like that and that's how i would have preferred him to look.

but everyone collects for different reasons and likes different things. i can see that :)

That is very true, but I think fans of Doc should just be grateful to have even gotten a figure of him!:dunno, and the beauty of Western figures is that there are loads of parts out there to help bash his other looks, I think bashing this look (the one we got) would be much harder then bashing any of his other looks simply due to the quality of the duster rainman made for him and trying to find something similar to that would be really difficult.

Sorry to derail.:peace

Never any hard feelings and I agree with the idea that the charcoal suit is the most iconic look. I don't however think that any of his outfits are iconic if that makes sense. The character yes, his outfits no. That's why I really didn't care which look he came with. The only reason I ended up vocal about anything is because Turbo started trying to dictate the project as if this was some kind of dream project he's been clamoring for. I would have literally bought anything Rainman decided to do.

As for getting it done, I've been asking for a Plainview quite literally since the day I walked out of the theater. The people on here will atest to my assholishness about it. :lol I've tried to privately commission him from Andy Bergholtz, Trevor Grove, Erick Sosa, Rainman, Iminime, and even Headplay. Same result came up everytime. I introduced Rainman to the film along time ago. Back when The Dude was being made. He watched it, and got back with me that he loved the film and that he wanted to make the character. After that he was supposed to be the next figure and then he wasn't. And then again he was supposed to be the next figure and again he wasn't. This has gone on and on since the Dude with every figure that's come out and I had literally given up on it ever being made. I asked one last time for a commission and never heard back from Rainman. About a week later is when the thread popped up that it was finally being done. Needless to say I'm a happy camper and if Rainman or anyone else makes anything Plainview; I'll be there for that as well.
