But on another note, I was in Barnes & Noble today and I stumbled on "The New Biographical Dictionary of Film". Really what it is is an encyclopedia of actors, directors and other historic names in cinema. The information on the people in the book is a mix of facts and the opinions of David Thomson.

Pacino nickleson deniro Pesci hanks these are probably the most talented actors of all time these guys everyone of them is highly skilled they could be in a crap movie and make it excellent to watch because of there talent in it ...,but ddl is definitely up there with the greats he is one he'll of a talented actor and my personal favorite of them all GONY and TWBB speak for themselves .............. Just my opinion

Well noted, and thoughI love these guys both so much but neither of them have done one thing decent for two decades. The exception being Pacino in Insomnia... IMO of course.

I'm not knocking the work they've done which puts them as my two favorite actors, I believe they both delivered performances above anything Lewis has done, but what I'm saying is that from a place of right now today, and from a consistency standpoint, Lewis has them beat I think.

It's debatable though.

I'm a huge Pesci fan of course but despite his iconic movies, few and far between and mostly supporting roles, they don't carry the weight to consider him in the calibre of the other actors you listed in my opinion. I'd edge an actor like Gary Oldman for example way above him. Pesci is wonderful but always Pesci. Oldman like Lewis, can be anyone.

And yup he's been in crap movies too. Of course I'll admit I enjoy the hell out of home alone 1 and 2 but I'll beg to differ in gone fishin'

But at least he's never been in a foker movie, you have to give him credit for that or a Sandler movie... Sorry Pacino and Nicholson you're busted

I get the fact that the others can play anyone and Pesci is Pesci but havin said that he is one of the greats for his talent as a actor look at the role he plays in casino that's a man you don't **** very well played then across the board to my cousin vinny very funny he's versatile but is himself ...., back to the board now when's Lincoln out..?
