I almost forgot

the mask reveal was great. Five movies in, I don't know how many times they've used it by now and I seriously didn't see it coming. I actually thought Baldwin was going to be Ethan if anything. It's funny too because they mention the possibility of using one earlier for Benji but never do.

Clarify this for me Deckard because I must confess to not being entirely sure about it

Was Baldwin with the IMF the whole time? Just, he seemed as surprised as anyone in the mask scene. It made me think that by the end of the film he had changed his mind about the effectiveness of the IMF as opposed to having been in on the scheme from the start.

No he was definitely against them and wanted them shut down at first. It wasn't until the Prime Minister confessed to fake Ethan that he green lit the syndicate program that Baldwin realized he goofed. When Ethan basically allowed him to take credit for saving the PM in that scene, he was totally on board. That's why that second senate hearing was so funny, when he acted like he knew what was up all along. Renner was always in on it though, even when he called Baldwin to rat them out.

Yea the comedy really worked well without being forced, which is great for this kind of action.

:lol I loved when he woke up after the car tumbled and was still shouting his original sentence. Reminded me of that scene in The Lego Movie where Emmit keeps screaming even after he hit the ground.

Just saw it - 8.5/10 at the moment from the initial reaction. I really enjoyed this movie, as Deckard says, the comedy works really well and the action is great. Tom Cruise doing his own stunts is very admirable, and the other actors all do well with their material, especially Simon Pegg who's hilarious in it.

Just got back from seeing it and loved it! I still think Ghost Protocol is number one for me but this takes second. Very fun ride!

I thought the way
the villain was defeated was a bit anti-climactic after all the spectacular sequences leading up to the finale.

Still an awesome movie though.

This should be here instead of in Bond...

Finally went to see Rogue Nation with the wife lastnight.

Definitely the best of the series, I was not a fan of Ghost Protocol that movie received high praise but for whatever reason it just didn't move me.

I do think it's a good thing when movies like Kingsmen and Rogue Nation force the James Bond series to improve their game, competition is always a good thing.

But I still prefer Craig over Cruise as the ultimate spy.

Mission Impossible fetish with motorcycles keeps getting better, it's like Top Gun mixed with Torque!

Good stuff! High energy fun, like JW.

The spectacle on display in a Rogue was much better than the spectacle in Ghost.

That chick was hot.

Austria legitimatizes any spy movie. :lol

Rogue had very good characters to chew the scenery, it was fun.

I will not be seeing Man from Uncle. :lol

Hopefully Spectre is as good or better than CR.

CR is really good, I want Craig to have a great movie.

I agree with all!

8/10 for me. MI keeps getting better and better. I think each outing has topped the previous. I'll need to watch them again in order to see if that holds up. I think II might have been a drop but can't recall. Great pacing, solid acting. Cruise brings his A game to every movie he's in, which is one of the things I've always liked about him. He is starting to show some wear on the edges for this type of movie. Ilsa Faust was smoking, and the kind of character that could carry her own movie. Wouldn't mind seeing her in the next one. Pegg is just a fantastic in everything that he does. Good to see Luther back, but Rhames also showing his years. I liked the Solomon Lane character quite a bit (creepy ass voice and well played delivery), but still think Philip Seymour Hoffman has been the best MI villain to date.

That said, the Spectre trailer played before the feature, and I think that is going to blow MI away. It could well cement Craig as the best Bond ever (I was a Connery fan beforehand) and I am really interested to see Bautista's character, Mr. Hinx.
