Mixed Drinks

I go to a bar that doesn't make foo foo girl drinks. They don't even make Long Island Ice Teas (my fave).

Anyway, I'm sick of the ol' shot and pop drinks, like rum and coke, 7/7s, things like that. Anyone have any ideas for simple mixed drinks that a dive bar can make easy?

You guys posted after I left.

Those guys didn't even know what a whiskey sour was!

They gave me a shot of crown with sour mix.

I call it a dive bar because it just opened (a friend of my brother's owns it) and they don't have much. Trouble is, they don't have a REAL bartender and are limited on what they can serve.

I had my wonderful whiskey sour (ugh), a 7/7, a rum and coke and a Fireball shot before I called it quits. They mix their drinks strong, but I wasn't even buzzed.

I love most of those, but I'm sure they don't have all that stuff.

I love Kahlua and cremes, but it's not something I would want to drink more than one or two of.

Hard to beat Grey Goose plus Cranberry and a lime.

I like sweet but not fruity. Aside from vailla rum or vanilla vodka, I can get those drinks at the little hole-in-the-wall bars in my area. How are they limited in what they can serve? Is it more like a pub?

They are basically a beer and shot and pop place. I think at the moment they don't want to stock a full bar. Most of the best bars I've been to are in resturants.

We don't have a lot of good bars and we have no pubs in my area. I would love it because I like that kind of atmosphere. I don't drink a lot but when I do, I like to drink something I really like.
