I think and i really hope i dont jink it by saying this but i have removed my belt for the last 3-4 days now and been dabbing my dx abs for the last 3-4 nights and each night i have seen a steady decrease in shine. I wonder if my oil is already starting to dry up

does the oil that comes thru ruin the suit in anyway? damage the suit or corrode the paint or rubber?

It certainly has not ruined mine at all, seems to literally just sit on the surface. I do however dab mine and i know some people have had problems when they have wiped the residue off, so my advice is dab and not rub

I think even a month would be too soon to see it have any real effect, it's not a corrosive material, but 2 months, a year from now, could dry out or some other way deteriorate the figure. Whatever it is, it's not meant to build up on the surface like it's doing and if it's doing that, it's hard to imagine it not being a significant problem in the long term. If nothing else, I think it could permanently alter the figure. If you leave it for a long time and then go to wipe, might still look glossy or different from the other parts of the suit.

It's something that shouldn't be happening to the figure, and Hot Toys is responsible for resolving it.

This is going to be a real headache for HT! This is not going to go away!

I am concerned this problem is to big for them, the size of the recall now scares me into thinking they will chance their arm and just leave us stranded

Big picture though, they're better off eating their mistake on this figure than not correcting the mistake. Sure it may be costly to correct, but the cost of one figure compared to lost future business is small.

I can already see now, and rightly so, any future figure using any sort of rubber like this getting comments about this mess and concerns from customers, and rightly so. It also would just hurt if they didn't offer some way to put a figure in people's hands that intact because it would essentially say we don't care, live with it, and it matters to people as much to know a company is looking out for their best interests as the quality of product they make. Sideshow's taken heat from people over their product quality for years, but one thing that is highly praised with them is their customer care.

Absolutely! That is the right approach that HT should take however i am concerned this is going to cost huge amounts now to make people happy with regards to the probs with this fig. I wonder if they may take an arrogant stance and think hey we are HT we make amazing 1/6 figures nobody to touch us people will still come back for more. Let me ask you a question, if HT do nothing about this problem are you going to then boycott the T-800 figure released in a couple of months?

So why wouldnt the rest of the suit corrode? Why wouldnt the rest of the rubber on other parts have issues as well? C'mon man...

I don't believe in boycott as an effective practice unless you could get everyone to do it, and you're not going to. If I stop buying HT figures, someone else will buy up the ones I don't, HT's not going to lose business from me. If you could get 1000s of people to cancel or stop ordering, you might send a message but it's not going to happen.

I remember it being mentioned that HT had to scrap the Tumbler at first and overall still lost money on it so I feel that they do know what needs to be done to keep their business. I certianly will give them the benefit of the doubt and so far it looks just the same as with previous DX02 problems where HT is slow to admit but ones the solution is out they do come through

I have had mine for 2 months now & I tend to agree, dab it off, not wipe or rub. However, the amount of oil seems to vary from figure to figure, and, in fact, it seems to have gotten more pronounced with the latest batches, based on what we've seen posted here.
Mine seems to be just along the edges of the bottom plates, but some of the newer ones are literally sopping with oil, many on 3 or 4 of the plates.

And yes, HT should bite the bullet on fixing this, if anything, to protect their vaunted "DX" brand. Second figure in and they're experiencing all these problems...that tends to scare away future customers from the DX brand.

I surely hope this issue gets resolved with a HT massive recall...

Can you imagine they just tell anyone and everyone who owns one of these bad boys, that they just can send them in and they'll either replace the suit or other...

Maybe a mass recall would be best, fun and just make this thread go another 700-pages for another 2-3 months, and then another 1000 pages by the time the next batch-1 of DX Bats get back in the market. YIPEEEE...

I'm so glad that did not happen. I would have been so cheesed off and deeply gutted if the Tumbler was canned. Having that piece alone is so mouth watering. The sheer detail in scale. I had it on pre-order for a year and 3 months or so...

I KNOW!!!! When I first joined here and had my Tumbler already only to realize you ppl have been waiting for this well over a year I was in shock!! I am glad I was spared that torture for sure!! How the hell did you guys even survive that!!!
