OK finally framed those beautiful covers

Still need to find real thin acrylic sheets to cover the front to protect

Frames were cheap from Michaels but stupid blade to cut aluminum cost me and arm and a leg but I needed to cut some ikea frames as well, just hope I have more use for it down the road

That is a VERY cool idea. I might do that with mine!

I almost want to frame even the box

at first I feared that I have to remove the foam backing and risk damaging the cover but I found this frame in the Arts Craft store Michaels (Canadian company? not sure ) and it has about 1/4" clearance so I can squish in the foam with the cardboard. Now just have to find some real thin acrylic to cover the front to complete the presentation. It was relatively cheap too and I was able to cut it to size myself. I wonder if Ikea had a cheaper option though

Anyone wants this done locally let me know. Just donate towards my "blade" fund and I be happy Not HT Blade.. this blade

wanted to share some pics of my updated bats.

shortened his neck just a tad more. reason for doing so, originally it wasn't enough. after my first attempt, i still had to tilt his neck and head forward to make the proportions look and feel better.
i forgot to take the cape into consideration. even after a lot of futzing to make it look flat, it still has a lot of volume and kinda gives the illusion that his traps are higher, making his long neck stand out less. so, i went back and sanded some more and now his neck looks just right, without having to tilt it forward too.

if i can get one of those custom capes and slap it on my bats, it'll look perfect.

now the length of the neck is much better to me.

I forget, were you able to have normal ball joint function and everything with this mod?

I don't normaly like to do permanent mods, but if I can't find an extra neck (either V1 of DX) I may do this. I just want it to function the same as it did without the mod.



Also, did you mod 2 necks. Both the Batman one and the Bruce display?

It is great, better than any of the Bruce Wayne heads from Hot Toys for sure.

Thanks The cheap (affordable) ideas are the best ones You can do this yourself! I just checked and they are in US as well. Just need to make sure you got the tools and remember to sign up for the coupons I used 50% and 25% off coupons to bring down the price

Worse case you could try to find a generic frame that is slightly larger and insert the cover into that though you will need to remove the foam backing

OOps for a moment I thought you were saying the Medi Batman came with a bruce head. I forgot they actually had a Bruce Wayne released

It would have been nice to have a Bruce Wayne figure to end the line. Rather than this flop of a DX.

It is a good sculpt but I still think HT paint is great. Very lifelike and the gloss in the eyes is done right and sets the sculpt off really well even if it's not 100% Bale. Your entitled to your own opinion though.

Are you sure it's paint that Hot Toys uses? as it doesn't scrape off. I don't know how you could describe it but when you look at a DCD, Takara or Medicom figure you can see the huge difference. When you look at a Hot Toys sculpt for skin there's a weird somewhat translucent effect to it. As if it's deep into the sculpt itself. Like from the molding/creation process.

The eyes in Hot Toys is exactly like paint on the surface.

I'm not sure if the Wayne heads were painted or not. The Hot Toys heads from like 2006-2008 seemed like they were just cast in a flesh tone, but figures now like Wolverine and the humans in the Terminator Savlation line are definitely painted and it really shows too, there's much more variation to the skin tones and it just looks so much nicer.
