It was his last one, wasn't going to take any risks. I'm sure you guys are cool, but for every one of us posters, there are 5 lurkers. I wasn't counting on somebody publicly asking me.

I can't be sure but does it look like the right (my POV) lower ab is darker? Also is the plate under the left (my POV) shoulderblade deteriorated? The pictures are not highres enough to make that determination and I certainly hope I am seeing things.

Good eye, man. Wow. The paint has a small flaw there, it's peeling a wee bit. I'm going to fix it as best I can and seal it with varnish.

And yes, his lower abs are darker and there are a few drops of oil under his belt. It doesn't bother me and if that is what all this fuss is about I really can't understand. Maybe some people have it alot worse, but I can certainly deal with the amount I have. It's not as if Hot Toys is ever going to produce this figure again. The next one will be the Batman 3 figures about 2 and half years from now.

It's been a snowball effect. When the figure was released in Hong Kong, there were problems with the paint where it flaked off from the figure, and many figures shipped with warped heads, which got people concerned, but Hot Toys corrected those issues.

Then when the international dealers like Toys2 started getting theirs, the oil issue started popping up, The problem itself wasn't a huge fuss at first, the fuss is more geared towards HT's inaction towards this issue. When the HK vocalized and slammed Toy Hunters and the HT Facebook pages with frustrations, Hot Toys addressed it and was forthcoming and showed concern for the problem and poor QC, with the oil issue, many people have been ignored or brushed off, and it's really HT's customer service that's the fuss more than the defect itself.

I don't think it's forgotten at all, I think it's greatness is at the heart of the sting of the oil problem. If it were a crappy figure people would probably write off the figure and move on at the loss, but it's such a good figure, they're looking to get one problem free.

I mean along the lines of that, the QC issues get more forum time and discussion than the actual quality of the figure itself. It kind of takes focus away from how great a piece it is, and understandably too.

I'm itching to take more photos but to be honest I'm just too scared to take them out the box in case the oil starts up all over again.

It's so nice to not have to worry about the next day it's darkened and moist again and not having to dab it down daily. Dabbing it down each day is such a major royal pain in the arse.

How anyone can say they don't mind dabbing it down daily is beyond me. By the time I reached week 3, I was really cheesed off with doing it. Hence why I had to plug it with acrylic paint.

I don't care how much patience one has, you can only do it for so long until it's irritating.

I haven't been dabbing it at all. It seems to be maintaing the same level of oil and only generates more if I clean it. I'm just going to leave it alone.

Slightly darker abs seems to be the only penalty and I can live with that.

Sadly I'm really @n@l with keeping things in pristine condition. The whole oil fiasco has bugged me since more or less the beginning of owning it that I don't want to go through it all again. :/

As well as the off colour drives me nuts. I can't stand looking at something that isn't right or working right no matter what it would be.

Part of me would like to have a PERS head painted like the interrogation, but for the money, when I was done with photos I'd have no use for it anymore so it'd be a waste.

Just curious if there is a more concrete release date for the DX02 Batman than quarter 2. I have him preordered through Big Bad Toy Store.

According to DCBS they are expected to arrive May 26.
