Ahh, that explains it. I guess to someone who hadn't ever read them that would just seem mental.

I think those books are a very american thing.
Never even *heard* of them till Jim Carrey came along.
Maybe it's different now, but when i was growing up, those books were not around.

I dunno, I'm in England and I remember them when I was a kid. I read a couple, green eggs and ham, the cat in the hat, the fox with no socks (I think?) and loved the original grinch cartoon. I imagine it was probably much bigger in America though.

Haha well yeah I realised that, but you're not far off and generally if something's more popular over that side of the pond then we'd be in the same boat. But I agree, it probably is more popular over in the us than it is...on this section of the world. Lol.

I'm keeping her with or without a bat pod. I have 2 BPs on order but if they show up with too many QC issues I'll ditch them and Ms. Kyle will stay right here with papa.

Did a lot of you guys stretch for the EX or did you just go the regular route?

I think those books are a very american thing.

Yea this was a craze back in the day. I don't have kids so I don't know if it kept that same popularity till today but it was hot s__t to a kid in the 80's. Interesting to hear it didn't get the same recognition over seas.

Sure they reached the UK. Just read the Cat in the Hat to my daughter yesterday; one of her favourites. I never had them as a child, but my wife did, as did a number of my friends.

I try to avoid ordering from sideshow if I can just because of the import taxes but went for the EX this time, think the price will work out about the same as retailers over here anyway.

Yea I'm still trying to figure out how you guys in certain countries even collect . IDK all the details, but I keep reading about custom duties and shipping and so on and it sounds like you guys pay a hell of a lot more than we do.

I was really asking what direction guys in the States went with it. Just curious because our price is more straight forward; EX from SS= MSRP + shipping as opposed to getting it from another local retailer for under retail

Its not too bad sometimes, I usually order through onesixthbruce and the pricing is pretty good. It's really only if we need to order through sideshow for an exclusive or something that onesixthbruce doesn't stock that it becomes a bit of a pain.

I have a brilliant seller right here on the forum i buy through.
He declares the value of all items to be under $15 so i don't get charged import fees, but sends items tracked so they don't disappear.
I got a MKIV and Gantry delivered to my house marked as "toy doll, Gift, $15"...
Prices are cheaper than anywhere in the UK and i get items faster than the UK sellers do.
That's how i do it.

Oh the pain! That brings back eye watering memories, that was one of the stretching/warm-up exercises that our martial arts Sensei used to get us to do. From that position you do what is effectively 5 push-ups, getting your body as low to the floor as you can...then whilst keeping your body as low to the floor as you can, switch sides.

Once you get into it it gives you a much greater range of movement...The lovely Ms. Hathaway is clearly a person that looks after herself.
