Why would people argue "Anne Hathaway has no ass in real life"? Dont people want the figure of how she appears in the movie? This is like the Bane/Hardy debate.

It's about screen accuracy. Just because it happens to be the figure's lower region doesn't mean anything other than the fact that it's misshapen. I, for one, see these figures as works of art. Inaccuracies, by default, niggle me. How's that for nerdy answer?

What got me excited for this was the pose of her on her knee. And her shoes.

Scarlett Johansson is curvier than Anne Hatheway, hence probably the need for the more distinctive body shape.

Just because some people like big butts, doesn't mean we need to give every female figure a big butt - these are supposed to represent the characters, not any given individual's "female ideal."

Besides, the flatter the butt, the happier I am I like skinny girls, I don't like butts.

I wholeheartedly agree on the need for absolute detail. While the company is called Hot Toys and they make action figures/dolls/whatever you care to call them, at the point I'm paying over 200 for a single 1/6 figure it stops being a toy to me and becomes poseable art.

So sadly, you are both going to go through life being unhappy about it. This desire for "...absolute detail..." at a 1:6 scale you both crave for is an impossibility, and for some very simple and 1:1 scale reasons.

Every single figure you have bought and every single figure you will ever buy is the product of compromise. The 1:6 scale world is limited by many full sized practicalities. Like what can be achieved by, for a start, using 1:1 scale fabrics. Even choosing the fines sheerest fabrics around does not give the guarantee that they will perform as we see them on the screen. Don't forget too that what we see on screen as 'costume and how it behaves' can be altered by CGI and augmented by using one-off custom set-ups to solely and singularly get that one required shot and no other, case in point...SPIDERMAN's mask (Raimi's or Webb's version...they both used the same tricks to make it all work).

Also...Human bodies are always going to be way more flexible than a 1:6 figure, no matter how good a 1:6 figure body it is.

As to body shape...It would be business suicide for companies like HT, Enterbay, Medicom, SSC, 3A, BCS etc to spend funds R+D'ing a brand new and fully custom body for each new figure, so a fairly decent and wider range of different types of bodies is usually developed over the years. Sometimes they do of course -like on HT's SUPERMAN figure - but mainly it would be from a stock choice.

No, the real art of these companies (aside form the beautiful design and construction), is how they balance and disguise these compromises. Therein lies the real skills.

This slavish desire for your "....absolute detail..." is an impossibility.

You're right but looking at the DX12 thread before I ordered, it was page after page of mods, tons of people wanting the most detail/best looks possible. And to be fair I am a straight male so watching TDKR I can't help but to take note of Catwomans figure.

Catwoman, Black widow and Maria Hill all have great figures

I would be willing to go to these ladies and get accurate measurements for HT if they wanted me to. They would not even have to pay me

My brother only collects the ladies and wanted me to mod the RE Alice figure for him. He had complained about her bottom being too big so I worked some of my magic.

I was not familiar with the HT female figures till I saw this one. It seems that they put a rubber skin-like midsection over the waist and articulation to give it the smooth texture so there are no unsightly lines or joint bulges through tight fitting clothing. It was nice looking and well done but when I saw reference shots of Alice, Mila Jobavich, I saw what my brother was talking about. The rubber section made her look lower half look like a potatoe with toothpicks sticking out.

I carefully removed the rubber body/booty piece and put her back together. Her lower mid section looks much more accurate to the movie and my brother was happy with the results. I had to do a bit of modifying to the corset she wears because it was made to fit her larger bottomed figure. Once he saw the corrected product he said "Now that's more like it".

I do mods to my figures, especially height mods, that I'm picky about but others that I don't have as much love for I leave alone. Certain figures I want to look the best that I can make them if I'm going to stare at them everyday. Plus mods are fun. I enjoy making improvements to my figures or creating whole new ones and sharing those thoughts and ideas on this forum.

I'd have to wait to see how she looks in hand before I did any mods to her but for now I plan to keep her stock if her height is accurate. That's usually my biggest concern.

oh really? i'm thinking my dx01 booty is right, but now i have serious concerns about my dx12 booty.

i'll have to pay more attention next time i watch the dark knight trilogy and compare booties on bruce and gordon and joker.

With all those DX12 TDK batman mods going on in the other thread, Selina Kyle is going to have an "ass" mod when she comes out for those who want more butt!
