These groups and people like OMG have gotten their ego sky rocketed because people feed them with attention too much.

I think I'm the only one on the forum that doesn't get all worked up over OMG pics. Yeah, they're nice pics but when I want to know what a figure looks like in-hand I go to kidult or whatever his name is on YouTube. He's the best one to really get an idea of what it looks like in hand. He's also the best because he doesn't talk. I hate about 98% of all YouTube reviews. They praddle on way too long about nonsense. Spending several minutes just on the ****ing box, having to read everything on it and twisting every articulated part on the figure to show us where it can move( Sean Long!!), like we don't know. Not to mention a lot of them have ****ty cameras and always try to be funny and amusing.

I'm sure if they were allowed to post full images right away, they would. Everyone would love to be first with in-hand images. But they probably get seeded figures early, just like trade mags and tech blogs, so they can create all their photos and write opinions/reviews which go live when Hot Toys says so - in other words, they're under embargo until a specific date. It's very common.

Yep, I believe OMG has explained previously that he can't post his photos until a specific date.

I'd say custom. HT doesn't seem to do seamless joints anymore other than Hulk.

That pic is from a HT Sarah Connor body prob... HT Connor/Abigail have the same rubber arms. Sheva has rubber arms too, though the sculpt isn't as nice.

I also like some of his poses, not just because I want to copy them in some cases, but it gives me an idea of the articulation that the figure is capable of.

Yeah, I always find that particularly ridiculous. Swooning over a box for more than, say, five or ten seconds, is bad enough, but reading the text on it out loud is an embarrassing experience for this viewer. I just fast-forward the vid until the actual fig shows up.

I agree. The only reason I care about the OMG pictures is because it signals that the release of the actual figure is close.

I like OMG pics because he can actually pose the figures... not having them look ill futzed and floppy like most other pics.

I don't like the contrasts he tends to use, the lighting is too extreme. But better than most poor flash photos which are also not indicative of the in-hand look. I agree, videos are the best at showing off that "in-hand" look.

This is exactly what I meant. He defo poses his figures better than a lot of other blog- type shots you see around a new figure's release.
