On another note, George Clooney is an Academy Award and Golden Globe caliber actor, but was bad as Batman. Being an Academy Award winning actor doesn't a superhero make. Heck look at all the actors who have played well in comicbook roles.
I think that comparison implies that somehow Clooney wrote the batman movie.
He was just a directed actor.
To be honest, based on George Clooney's portrayal of the lead role in The American, it's actually easy to imagine him doing a decent Bruce Wayne/Batman nowadays. Obviously that's not going to happen, but it's great to see what a talent like Clooney's looks like when harnessed by a good story and talented director, so don't blame that bad batman role on him.
If the script is done well, and a decent director is hired, then i have no problems with Affleck as Batman.
Based on the only recent roles i have seen Affleck in(Argo and The Town), i have to admit with no preconceptions that he could be okay in the role.
If we all get past associating him with previous roles, or with previously badly done Superhero movies, we might admit that there is potential there.
I am willing to bet that if the movie is great(Bryan Cranston, Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, who would have thought?), we will all be lined up to buy the Affleck Batman from HT.
I can picture how great it CAN be already.
There are such a wealth of Worlds Finest stories to draw from.
DC won't want another Green Lantern on their hands.
They won't mess it up folks.
