Well if you depress the shutter switch halfway and hold it halfway without fully depressing it, it will focus on an item, then hold that focus even if you move.

Tomorrow's the day--though I'll have to wait til I get off work to open him up. There are times when I have to remind myself I can't call in the day a figure arrives because I have to earn money to pay for this hobby.
