HellBoyII2.jpg

It's a cold day in Hell!

ok look. I'm one of these people who (unfortunately sometimes) has an eye (and ear) that lets me pick up the slightest difference in headsculpts, costume layouts, visual effects in films, when dialogue has been redubbed (but nobody else can hear the difference) .... I'm lucky in a way, but on the other hand it's annoying as I can never just *see* things without automatically spotting in which way they're not accurate.

Thankfully this has let me make some really cool custom figures, which I myself and others enjoy. so I can't complain about that.

But in terms of this Hellboy figure. Yes the body may be *slightly* small. Yes the body may be *slightly* the wrong shade of red. Yes the body may be *slightly* the wrong shape, and have *slightly* the wrong skin texture....

but the fact of the matter is, if you'd shown these images to any of us from just a few short years ago, NONE of us would have believed it was a 12 inch figure. We are so lucky that companies can turn out a product that looks this good, and yet on the flip side that's become the problem. People *expect* 100% perfection now... and that's unreasonable when you're dealing with toys. And if they get 98% perfection? Then they whinge!

And boy can internet geeks whinge.

We're lucky to have a hobby and be in a time where we have access to amazing figures like this, and many others that you see pictures of in this forum. This figure looks incredible, and for all its tiny discrepancies, it's accurate enough.

Even for me. :)

You are so, so, so right, There's nothing wrong with pointing out areas where mistakes have been made, but like yourself I've been collecting for more years than some members here have been born, that doesn't make me a world authority, but it means I have seen quality improve in manufactured box fresh figures in ways I would not have believed a few short years ago.
This is the golden age, embrace it, don't get angry about it!

Agreed, remember that just a few short years ago we weren't even getting this level of quality in figures. I look at my old buck bodies and cringe in comparison to the higher quality and better articulation some of the figures have today.

I'm not sure I'd call that lucky. :lol For making customs I suppose that makes you lucky but in the end I'd rather be me see my figures and go man that thing is mucking awesome! That goes for anything really. I would think sitting there and picking apart something would take all the enjoyment out of it.

Yeah I usually don't do it but this is pretty much my #1 1/6 of all time so there is no way I was waiting. I ordered from ABC Express so hopefully they get it soon....

it was said there are only 2 kinds of people. those who see things as they are, and those see things of what could be. guess which kind move the world, and which kind are just passing through?
