ok look. I'm one of these people who (unfortunately sometimes) has an eye (and ear) that lets me pick up the slightest difference in headsculpts, costume layouts, visual effects in films, when dialogue has been redubbed (but nobody else can hear the difference) .... I'm lucky in a way, but on the other hand it's annoying as I can never just *see* things without automatically spotting in which way they're not accurate.
Thankfully this has let me make some really cool custom figures, which I myself and others enjoy. so I can't complain about that.
But in terms of this Hellboy figure. Yes the body may be *slightly* small. Yes the body may be *slightly* the wrong shade of red. Yes the body may be *slightly* the wrong shape, and have *slightly* the wrong skin texture....
but the fact of the matter is, if you'd shown these images to any of us from just a few short years ago, NONE of us would have believed it was a 12 inch figure. We are so lucky that companies can turn out a product that looks this good, and yet on the flip side that's become the problem. People *expect* 100% perfection now... and that's unreasonable when you're dealing with toys. And if they get 98% perfection? Then they whinge!
And boy can internet geeks whinge.
We're lucky to have a hobby and be in a time where we have access to amazing figures like this, and many others that you see pictures of in this forum. This figure looks
incredible, and for all its
tiny discrepancies, it's accurate enough.
Even for me.
