This figure is incredible, so much so that im considering getting one of these instead of the PF.
I don't collect 1/6 either but I don't know if I have the room for the PF....only time will tell I guess.

Please keep this thread about the item. It's nobody's 'duty' to criticise others or insult someone just because their opinion is different.
If you don't agree with someone fine, rather than insult them, just ignore them or contribute positively to the thread.

I think this figure is indeed pretty damn good but, i doubt i will get it anytime soon..the sequel was not so great i thought..and i understand what buddy there was saying about how being a bit picky with art/action figures whatever..only leads to improvements down the road..i think the headsculpt on this is what sells it for me(even though not interested in HB) i always feel that with 1/6th figures..it starts with the headsculpt always first and thats the most important thing for me in deciding if i want a figure, the likeness is most important.

Just pray that rubber body does not dry up and crack on you..these things are exspensive and to have the amount of rubber Hot Toys figures i have dry up on me would be like losing almost 2grand or about that..sure you could say well, i got my fun out of them but, i want it to last..i hope Hot Toys really cares about selling collectibles built to last at some point, seeing those ED-209 pics were just brutal.

Is this a problem with these figures? I only own one 1/6 and he is still sealed in his Sideshow Box so I have no idea about HT figures.
Thanks

Its not a problem..not yet anyway for what i own..and i do agree though that it depends on where you store them and depends on environmental conditions as well but, i am sure Hot Toys is using some better materials the past few years now for their rubber figures..my Rambo 3 figure had a bit of a glossy finish to the rubber upper torso when i got him for like $110 CAN which i think was a great price(love the figure)..now he does not have that gloss look on him as much anymore but, there is no signs of cracking or anything on it at all..i never touched the figure much though.maybe picked it up 4 times since i bought it and never posed the arms at all really, my advice would be to be carefull when posing the figures with rubber arms, Hot Toys usually puts a little instruction paper packed in with the figure showing you how not to pose the arms and stress the rubber.

Apparently some of the earlier Rambo figures had that problem...
the newest Rocky and Drake seem to be just fine...

it was said there are only 2 kinds of people. those who see things as they are, and those see things of what could be. guess which kind move the world, and which kind are just passing through?

so you know why the best artists are neveeer happy.

Actually, art is changed by artists who actually CREATE. Not critics who nitpick every detail. Name the last critic that made art or film better. Truffaut is the only one I can think of.

The point being made is that we can nitpick this all day, but it is a mass produced item, not a single perfect sculpt being created for a limited audience.

Darren is an artist creates, improves and helps move the hobby/art forward. It looks like your just coming to pick a fight.

Until you can grow the balls to post some of your own ^^^^, I'm sure everyone would appreciate you getting down off YOUR high horse and shutting the ^^^^ up.

How's that for not going easy:D

I don't care what anyone says. this is f-ing awesome. :rock
I cannot wait until mine ships.

Not some, just the first which is the Rambo 2 figure, the rest is fine.

truffaut was a paid critic, but just because godard wasn't a professional critic, doesn't mean he's not just as critical. and they both changed movies forever. like it or not, critics play a part in advancement of art. they keep artists in check from time to time.

but really... artists, critics, semantics. my point is you cannot tell someone what he see should be 'good enough', when his eyes just dont see it that way. it's always good being critical.

As a 'critic' or as a fan of Hell Boy... will you be buying one?

Yes, I know who they are, and my point was that they weren't solely critics, they were also filmmakers. They didn't just talk about art, they practiced it.

And how exactly do critics keep artists in check? Hopefully, an artist will seek to create their unique personal vision, despite what a critic has to say. In my personal experience as a working artist I've always valued the opinions of fellow artists. Every time I've listened to a non-artist/critic I find their opinions uninformed and stifling.

I didn't mean to go into a lengthy discussion about art. My intent was to point out that Darren is suggesting that people can become overly critical and never really enjoy anything. Sure, toys will probably be better in 10 years. Your steak could be cooked better in 10 years. Even your car could drive farther and faster on a tank of gas in 10 years; but should we just avoid enjoying any of those things now, as they may be better later on.

I also think you can bicker about the quality of toys all day. I just hope that you'd do it without making snarky remarks about people you don't know.

Back to the discussion, I think the figure looks great and am glad I ordered it.:chew

Listen.. my point was that I have a more critical, more discerning, more 'pulling things apart', more 'wanting things to be better' eye than most people, and I'm saying that even with being like that, at some point you have to allow yourself to say "damn, that's really good!"

Otherwise you'll miss out on some awesome things, because your focusing on the bad, and not the good.

But please, don't try to tell me that I don't have a critical eye, or that I don't have a passion for making/wanting figures to be as accurate as humanly possible. ok? Trust me, you have no idea.

I am about to make a decision. A few post back I said that I have to wait for the Fig another 1 or 2 Months because I pre ordered from a german dealer.

Now I just bought an Bank Robber Joker from a really nice Seller in China. I paid like 100 € for the fig and another 30 € for the express shipping. The Joker arrived 4 days after I paid for him via PayPal.
The Seller said that on today he will be getting about 20 Hellboys and I can have one for the same price as the BR Joker. He also said that the Hellboy has a great demand and he will soon be sold out. I should act fast ...

What should I do ? Should I stay true to my principles or should I get him now ?

I hope to see more awesome Pics of the Fig. I am looking forward to see the first in Hand pics from fellow members.

Don't wanna start some international conflict or smth, but asian sellers ALWAYS saying this sh^t.
The most funny example was with my friend & studiosunny seller. He purchased Predator 1 line from him right before the Dutch pics was off from HT website & after they lost my friend send him the message, that he don't want to pay for the Dutch till the moment when pics with the final product will be available, because he don't want to pay 150+ $ for a figure without Arnie likeness.
And after that he just started to ^^^^ his brains, he said he is on the line with HT right now & they said Dutch will be only available from HK & will be very-very limited! So he should act fast!!!
My friend just asked him stop to say lies & be serious businessman. Some time later official pics back to site & payment was sent.
Me myself have tons of this stories but that was most ridiculous & funny.
Stories like this ALWAYS happened to me only if I buy smth from asian sellers.
IMHO, it's not a big problem & I can live with that, because overall service is great, but why do people need this lie in such a funny way :)
