I've been thinking about this a lot, and I'm trying to narrow it down to one or two things... but it's just really hard to say.
It depends on how you feel about permanent mods. If you don't mind cutting, then I still say, cut the gloves, and cut/sand the DX02 neutral face plate (if you have one). The best semi-permenant mod (I almost think of it as "advanced futzing") is to make the shoulder plates look smaller with heat and squeezing, this really makes the head look a lot more in-scale.
If you don't want to do anything that permanently alters the figure, I suggest this:
1) Custom cape.
2) Robbiethepainter's custom BW head face plate. (It will probably look better than the ruined DX02 face plate anyway.)
3) Boot/ankle mod. (Very easy, and a huge improvement.)
4) Half of my alternate neck mod. (I haven't posted instructions on this yet, but it's possible to make the neck look shorter without doing anything to the neck itself.)
Regarding the eyes, painting the lids makes a huge difference IMO, but it's pretty damn scary removing and replacing the PERS.
