Sorry for anyone that missed Black Suit Spider-Man - someone asked Mondo if another run was planned and they replied with:

Two years from now, they will release this without the animated paint.
Rogue got re-released shortly after with an “UnCanny” variant.

Seems like a really niche market if many of the Mondo figures have a 1,000 run. From what I understand, Hot Toys can run as high as 20,000+ on the more popular figures.

Considering all the R&D, licensing fees, operating and overhead expenses to pay employees/rent/electricity, how does Mondo recoup their money on such small runs?

The profit margins on each figure must be huge since they charge $200+ and i guess they pump out a lot of variants to recoup the cost of the same molds.

High production numbers offset HT high production costs.

Mondo's lower (?) production numbers means higher cost, even though the production costs are much lower.

These figures aren't limited to 1,000 each. It's just the repaints and the exclusives that are limited. It's more likely that the Red/Blue Spider-Man is 10,000 (just spitballing), and they just painted 1,000 of them black instead of red/blue.

Mondo confirmed they cancelled my original 10:03 AM Tuesday order so theoretically there should by another Symbiote out in circulation today.

I ended up placing a 2nd order yesterday about 20-minutes after the first when I noticed Mondo's Spend $250 Get $35 promo.

It was about $10 extra to get the additional book (Harryhausen: Movie Posters) with the Symbiote figure.

This might must disappointing preorder, it didn't look great and lacked extra heads and accessories but who knows, it may surprise?

Not to eager for this one, but you never know.

I’ll be interested in seeing how that one comes out. In all the pics I saw it looked like the middle web panel section on his face right below his nose was ever so slightly too wide but enough where it threw off the whole look of the head

Crazy how quick they are coming. I wish all pre-orders were like this from companies....

Hot Toys could learn a thing or two.
