I think you made a good point about their website being more transparent when it comes to flexpay.

I am currently paying for an item using flexpay. I got no notice, or receipt of payment for the first payment. Never got an official payment schedule either.

I'd like to see them indicate how many payments have been made, and how many are left when looking at your order details. I would also like a warning email when a payment is coming up, and an email confirming a flexpay payment has been recieved. An official schedule of payments both in an email and on your order details would be nice too.

As it is now I don't think I will use flexpay ever again. It seems to me like it was an afterthought from SS. It also really doesn't make much sense to me. I could have achieved the same thing on my own by just setting aside money once a month in my savings and transferring it to my CC when I get a shipping notice from SS.

I agree with alot of the posts here atleast let us know with confirmation emails about set flex pay dates, and how many you have left etc, would really make the whole thing alot easier, as of the moment i can only assume my first flexpay payment on one of my statues went through ok... :dunno

When you do flexpay they email you the date of payment schedule after order and TELL you to mark payment DATE ON YOUR CALENDER of BILLING DATE ...If need more info log into your account and payment date is same day each month ...very grateful for flexpay ...I THINK A LAYAWAY SYSTEM would be ok on top of flexpay option... I dont see LAY AWAY happening because a lot of people cancel and sideshow doesnt want old inventory problems ...

I have received Flex Payment schedules, any changes, when a payment is due/upcoming every time with every order, and that is so far over 10 orders! I save the emails so I have proof in front of me. Maybe if you aren't receiving the emails check your spam filters to make sure that specific email account is allowed. Here it is: Sideshow Processing Dept [[email protected]]

I've had plenty of items on flex and it seems to be hit or miss with the payment schedule emails. It would be nice if you could see the schedule and payments in your order details online.

Don't they already do that already?

We get Flexpay payment schedules but not payment confirmations after each payment.

This would be very good to see.

I have to order less from Sideshow then I would like because for me, 3 months flexpay still isn't enough of a breakdown. A lot of people have more money then me, so 3 months may not seem like a big deal. But man, if they could break it down to like 5 months for me, I'd be able to get more stuff I really want.

Though I empathize and understand the need & rational stated by others within this thread, I feel more FLEXPAY options be asked is not a viable option.

Some of the new product lines and items are typically more expensive and on the high end and there are those who truly want them, but at the same time given this is a hobby . . . we should either put up or shut up. If we truly want them and then coordinate our finances accordingly to acquire.

Quite frankly . . . it's the something for nothing approach & attitude I see.

Maybe Sideshow should start charging interest & finance for their higher end products from collectors who are balking about the current FLEXPAY options?

If a collector wants to take their sweet@$$ time in paying for an item, then Sideshow should charge interest if going outside the available FLEXPAY terms . . . if they have the ability to do that.

Either that or charge it to your credit card and then whine about the high interest rate your paying for your collectibles.

Considering Sideshow doesn't send out the item until after you have made your final payment, I do not see how they could charge you interest. It's not a like a credit card where you get your goods up front and then pay it off or make payments. Sideshow is basically holding your money for you and the item - until you have payed it off.

Sure they could charge a service fee if they wanted, but I really don't see how they could get away with any interest.

Excuse me.

A service charge is what I meant to say. Not finance/interest.

If only he'd stop following me around on the forum...life would be better...

And there's nothing wrong with people needing extra flexpay time. Just because YOU don't, doesn't mean others don't.

Never thought my first post ever would be on matters of finance, but what the heck :)

Anyways, I think the problem with Flexpay is that the bank charges a fee from Sideshow for every transaction made with a credit card. In my country they charge 5%, in the US I think its 2-3%, but there might also be surcharges involved per/transaction which would make SSC lose money if they opted for more flexpay installments.

This thread is a matter of finance; therefore, yes . . . your post is relevant.

Hmm, didn't even think of it that way. I wonder if it makes a difference if I set up my debit card with them. It acts as a visa. I should find out.

If I pre-order an item 6-9 months before it is released then what is wrong with me paying money towards it while I wait? How does asking for a 6 month flexpay option end up being to much to ask if I am waiting that long for the figure?

I can certainly understand they may not want long terms after an item launches but not to allow people to pay off the item in instalments while waiting for an item to launch seems silly to me.

In regard to fees in Aus many companies that offer pay by the month systems etc make the consumer pay the bank fees as well. They disclose the extra 5% and the client decides if they are happy to pay 5% for the ease. SSC could do that to if it is the real issue.
