Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

I still have to wait until Wed. or Thurs. :impatient:

Man, I got 1 more flex payment mid next month before I get him. I just can't swing paying it off this month in case I find a Donatello EX statue. :(

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

Weird, here is a pic of my sword arm.

Also, how long is your robe? I noticed the proto pics and the pics Master Ski posted both look like they stop just at the gound, while mine is so long that it has to be curled along the base otherwise it drags on the floor BENEATH the base! :horror

Who the hell dressed my WitchKing! :slap :lol

On mine, the sleeve covers the armored elbow and hangs down. As I said before though, I had to work with it to get it that way. The length of the robe is longer in the back than yours but shorter on the anvil side.:dunno

I guess that many of these will have variations, due to different people constructing them in the factory.

Actually, that's it having it's own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product.

Just brought # 139 in from the warehouse. :yess: I might display him in my office for the day, depending on how much work is involved in un-packing etc...

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

I've had this piece for a few days now and can say that in my opinion Sideshow did a better job capturing this guy,

The head lean, the twisted form as he steps to take another swing, the helm,...I have the Weta morgul lord too but it looks too clean and neat, the robes all seem to flow the same way, real fabric is a step forward for this guy :clap
I was gonna keep both but I think I'll sell off the Weta, times move on, out with the old and in with the new as they say.

Here's a question for anyone who has the ML in hand. When looking into the War Mask, should I be able to see light colored polystone (where the inside back of the hood should be) or should there be only black cloth visible all around the inside?

Something solid needs to hold up the mask, I think this is what you're seeing, I think they painted it black though, so with the right shadow you shouldn't be able to see it clearly.

Anyone know the minute/time he appeared in this pose/similar in RoTK.

Thanks for the reply.:duff I realize that the hood needs support, I sort of figured that the cloth would cover the entire inside though. I just adjusted the fabric around and it looks fine. You're absolutely right that no one will ever see it anyway.

I know that the cliche "it has to be seen in person" has been thrown around a lot, but it is completely true. This thing is Freakin Awesome in person. :rock

I'm glad you dig the piece. With your name, it almost had to be that way for everything to be right in Mordor.

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

If no one posts a comparison before I receive mine I'll post a pic of the two together.

I had the Weta ML War Mask up until a couple months ago and it seems pretty much the same size to me. I measured the PF helm from the tip of the spike down to the end of the mandibles and it's 8". Here's the specs of the Weta War Mask:

License: The Lord of the Rings
Product Type: Scaled Replica
Product Size: 9" H (228.6mm)*
Box Size: 8.00" H (203.2mm) x 4.50" W (114.3mm) x 4.50" L (114.3mm)*
Est. Shipping Weight: 4.00 lbs (1.81 kg)*

So if the overall product height (w/base) is 9" and the box it was shipped in is only 8" the PF must be pretty accurate.

I'm glad you dig the piece. With your name, it almost had to be that way for everything to be right in Mordor.

Thanks, yeah all is right in Mordor now.

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

i understand your gripes with all the inaccuracies, as im the same with Predator collectibles, but since SS did this piece in house, i would defn expect inaccuracies from them. If this was designed by the company that did the real character on film, then thats a different story.

Which is what makes Weta collectibles great! :hi5:

Not necessarily. Weta's RWOS statue shows the RW carrying the "Sword of the Witchking", which the WK uses. The sword the RW had in FOTR was different, one of 2 types that the lower Nazgul used.

I think that companies like SS & Weta are going to use a bit of "creative adjustment" when they produce statues, etc.

There's a simple way of explaining this - the RWOS IS the Witch-King :) He was one of the 9 after all.

Mine is one his way back to sideshow today for a replacement...Hopefully it won't take to long to receive a replacement...:monkey2

What are you using to hold it up?
