I'm watching the story right now, and damn, these Netherrealm guys are getting reaaaally good making these stories with each game, the script is really well made, the characters aver excellently defined and interesting, so far, not a single cringe worthy line, there were more than a few in MK9.

Injustice was a big upgrade in story quality from MK9, and MKX is a big story upgrade from Injustice, if things continue like this, Injustice 2 should be most excellent.

I'm currently on Chapter 6 of the story.

I couldn't help to spoil some of the story myself. I just watched part of the ending to see if my favorite character was alive or dead

Yes MK9, they story went back in time a rewrote the history.

so I shouldn't worry about anything before MK9? Cause MKX makes some reference to some stuff that was introduced in MK4, and I haven't play MK ever since.

Man, MKX really went into GoT territory by the way the story unravels, there are so many plots and all of the interesting, everyone has their own agenda, can't believe the story of a fighting game is more interesting than 90% of the current industry

Things like multiplayer have never really appealed to me. I don't care to play online and don't really have a lot of friends over that would either be interested in playing or if they are, any good (and I'm by no means great, but to non-players I look good ). So for me, the story and its gameplay have always been the key selling factor to a game to me. The advertised story of MK9 is what got me to buy that game instead of rent it like I did for all of the other games in the series. Big MK fan, but the story was just OK. MK9 really up'd that and I was all-in no questions with MKX. Really makes me hope for a decent MK movie to be made someday. The first film wasn't bad, but the second was horrible. And I'm just not a fan of the web series. If they made an MK9 kind of movie, it would be awesome. It would have to be rated R for violence and gore to really do the franchise justice though and I think that's something that puts studios off from a big budget film like this would need. Maybe someday.

But I like that they're taking the story so seriously. Otherwise, yeah, its just another fighting game with new fatalities. Fun, but nothing great. As long as I'm having fun while being entertained, I'm happy. So any halfway decent storyline would do that for me, so I'm thrilled with what MK9 delivered and what MKX looks to deliver.


Just throwing this question out there in case anybody knows the answer. Will the Amazon Import Edition be released on Tuesday as well? They never did list it with a release date so I'm not sure if they are actually importing these and causing a delay or if its just being called 'import' because its the EU edition being released in the USA.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, hire the writers of the game and I think WB would be the right studio to make the movie, MK9/MKX cutscenes are really a movie by themselves.

I'm gonna have to buy MK9 and MKX because it really feels like it's worth to have them just because of the great production values.

Also, in case those of you who hadn't read it a few days ago, boon tweeted that it could be upwards of two weeks before we get the mobile version on android. It could be sooner but he thinks no more than. 2 weeks. Thank **** my iPod can run the mobile version.

I was having that issue. Couldn't connect to online so couldn't save my progress to the cloud but it seems to be random.
