Fallon had a chance to date Nicole Kidman and completely blew it for being a nerd :lol she actually went over to his house thinking "they would get to know each other" and all he did was offer her cheese and play videogames in front of her :rotfl

My girlfriend sees every single movie he's in. She'll be one of the first to see this. She honest though if the movie stinks. I'll have to wait for her review. I have no interest in seeing it though.

yes this does look terrible. Depp is flushing what career he had, down the toilet. Not seeing this.

Johnny Depp Net Worth | Celebrity Net Worth

$400 million.

He's just taking paychecks, he doesn't care about the quality of work he does... not for at least a decade.

I think it also has to do with making movies his kids will enjoy.

This happened with Tim Burton and Adam Sandler as well (as well as some rock musicians) they get married and when they have kids they sort of lose their edge and then they start of thinking about creating stuff their kids can watch.

I know that's one of the reasons Adam Sandler's movies are so silly now. (not a lot of dark humor like before)

Sandler hasn't done a good movie since Billy Madison.

I think "Punch Drunk Love" was the best thin he's ever done. He didn't try to be funny.

Depp is done. He does nothing but **** lately. But still gives Howad Chan a hard on of epic proportions.

Johnny Depp's Career Crossroads: Actor Facing Third Box-Office Flop in a Row - The Hollywood Reporter

From Reddit :

I think people forget that 5-10 years ago, he gave a lot of interviews where he half-jokingly said that since he had kids, he a) only wanted to make lighter movies he could watch with them, and b) was going to start taking roles just for the money, because life is short and movies don't matter as much as spending time in comfort with your children.

People took that as a joke, but in retrospect I think it's time to maybe consider that he was being completely open and honest in that moment, and now we're seeing the product of someone who gets $20 Million even for the worst films he does and really doesn't give a **** about acting legacy.

It's funny, because Johnny Depp always made crappy films, even back in the 90's before he "sold out." The difference was, they weren't big budget films, so no one cared. After he made the first Pirates, he became a huge star, and with that type of success comes high expectations and a lot of attention and even then, the year he made Pirates, he made two crappy films, Secret Window and Once Upon a Time in Mexico. It's what he always does...did, but the only difference is he now gets 20 millions for it. For every Edward Scissorhands and Edwood, there was a Nick of Time, The Ninth Gate, The Brave, Dead Man, The Astronaut's Wife, and The Man Who Cried...and believe me, you will cry while watching the film. Now it's Mortdecai, but soon he'll be in a good drama and people will for get about all the crap.

Depp goes downhill and Downey Jr goes uphill. Two of the which we never thought would flipflop their careers. :lol

Eh, I see no problem with selling out. It's hard to make money. And even harder to make a lot of money. And when someone tosses stupid money, you take it.

This flick just looks awful, no matter who is in it.

Unless you are a Brit, then you prolly will eat this up.

I've never understood the whole "selling out" bit. People used to say that all the time about rock musicians. As soon as they start making money, they've sold out.

Just joining this conversation - no, I haven't seen the film.

I'm not surprised it's not doing better. Depp has never been a good promoter for his own films and this movie isn't getting any advertising.

Love pirate movies .... I will watch em all ....

Not a huge fan outside of them .... I did like Secret Window .... A lot , Rum Diaries and Fear and Loathing ..... And might be the only person alive that enjoyed Lone Ranger and Depps Tonto .
