I was looking at the pictures of Hot Toys Spider-Man 3 Figure and thought about how most of the poses shown wouldn't be attainable without some kind of physical aid.

This lead me to think about which Marvel characters would be the most difficult to make 12 Inch Figures of.

My Picks are...

Mr. Fantastic
The costume and sculpt are simple but managing to recreate the stretcho power seems damn near impossible to make believable.

Human Torch
For the costume, head and hands I'd go with an orange and white color scheme and have the hands and head details similar o Ghost Rider's flame effect. For the body flames, a series of snap-on translucent flame effect pieces for each limb would be the best in order to maintain articulation, any other way seems difficult.

Hydro Man
Similar to Human torch his powers would require some translucent pieces and switch-out arms where he has transformed to shooting water. His legs could plug into an "eruption of water" base that forms around the lower half of his body.

Ice Man/Invisible Woman
Would both have to have a Translucent/Semi-Translucent Body, Bobby could perhaps have ice shooting arms.

Beast/Sasquatch/Wolfsbane
and other furry characters would present manufacturing and cost problems.

Ego The Living Planet

No explanation needed NUFF' SAID!

Medusa
The Hair, can't see how it could be logistically done.

Doc Ock
Wouldn't be that hard to make in a good way, the problems i would see the company having is maintaining a way for the figure to sand solo without a stand as the varying positions of the tentacles would change the weight balance of the figure.

ArchAngel/Angel
Could have similar problems in balance that Doc Ock could have.

Phalanx

A number of characters would require a completely new body design or such a large size that they would most likely not be made or would be priced too high.

  • Beast
  • The Rhino
  • Juggernaut
  • Sasquatch
  • Sentinel
  • Shadow King
  • Iron Monger (HT seem to have given up on this one)
  • The Thing
  • Wendigo
  • Spiral

UATU the Watcher (not hard to make i just love that chrome dome!)...

...Bobblehead as standard heh :rotfl

I think it would be Hulk. He would have to be at least 14" to be in scale and in rubber body with hidden articulation...

Larger characters of course.
Invisible characters = SuperProfit for manufacturers! :rock I have about 500 of them on my shelves at the moment BTW.

Although hulk would be incredible hard to get into production i think it has a good chance, with the avengers film coming up, plus HT has splurged on some licenses like with the Bat-Tumbler

I have been looking everywhere for an invisible character! I'll pay top dollar if you're prepared to part with one of yours - please post a pic Sined :)

My pick would have to be Galactus because how do you really catch the sheer massive size of Galactus in a 12" figure...I don't think it's possible.

Sorry my friend, I can't part with these :monkey3
Anyway, here is a pic of my display room with invisible figs:

Both SSC & Hot Toys did a tremendous job here IMO. With such a top notch quality they worth every penny.

Ahhhhh, you'll notice i specifically worded the thread 12" Figures not 1/6 scale figures,

Galactus, Ego, The Celestials, Ant Man (Big Version) are just no possible to scale, but would still look great as 12" figures.

Galactus. Make him in 1:6 scale HT. I dare you.

You really want a giant cloud? :lol

You guys got to remember HT only has the film version license for Marvel characters, so most of the suggestions on this list are moot anyway.

And Iceman, Invisable Woman, Human Torch, just make them non-powered figures :duh

Hyrdoman and the others just won't happen, so why bother.

IF any of those other characters get made in 1:6 scale it will be by Hasbro and its easy to to things like that in 100% plastic.

I understand. I would not want to part with them either. That is a first class set up you have there Sined, kudos :clap

Perhaps it is for the best, my girl would kill me if she came home and found out I had one of these on the shelf, as she is very picky about how my figs fit in with the decor.
