I love how people tease others and make fun of them for trying to be active in the community and start conversations. I am seeing this everywhere. So many cliques on this site and people getting made fun of because they aren't part of the "known group" and have their threads or posts called retarded and stupid.

So unwelcoming and disgraceful that it's so cool to be an *** wipe on this site.

its everywhere not only on this community..... u know actually it keeps balance .... we have to ignore them n accept them :1-1:

I have seen so many statues figures on sale at marketplace n thought it must be hard to sell some fav collectibles..... just wanted to know thoughts abt it coz after all we r emotionally attached to this hobby

Who is being teased in this thread?

Sculpt a mullet on that and it could be Macho Man.

Most loved was the Medi ROTS Vader. Such a cool piece but the scale bugged me too much. So I sold him. :D

My Police Station Shootout T-800 custom.

I don't sell Terminator stuff but made an exception here because I was offered a nice sum of money that really helped out at Christmas.

I'm hoping HT will fill in this new gap in my collection with an official version.

I have sold only 4 statues in my entire collection so far. They weren't as impressive in hand as I thought they would be. So, I sold 3 of them and traded the other one. No regrets on my part.

I think what makes letting a piece you love go is mainly tied to financial hardship or need for money. If I was hard up for cash, selling off a statue I love would be difficult. That is a decision based off need. I wouldn't be selling off a piece because I didn't want it or like it anymore. That situation can cause some regret. Thankfully, I haven't been forced into that predicament.

Space is the only other reason I see peeps selling off statues. Most of us have limited display space and sooner or later the decision to sell to create space comes into play. Because of space issues, I have a general rule not to buy more than one character in each of the scales I collect. For example, I have one statue of Hulk in BD/Koto scale. I also have the Hulk Com as well. If another Hulk statue is released, and I think it looks better than the one I already have, I will sell the one I have and PO the other one I like more. Space restrictions force me to do so.

In the end, I'm glad I never really had to let go of a statue I really liked.

That's understandable. So long as SS produces another Hulk that you like, I think you'll be OK. Did you PO the maquette? That is a fantastic piece and could easily take the place of the Hulk Com in your collection.

I love the Com. I even had it signed by Stan Lee. For me to let it go would require SS produce a 1/4 fully sculpted Hulk that would blow me away. It could happen. Then I would sell the Com and move the new piece in its place. SS Hulk statues eat up a lot of space. :lol

Have you seen the new pics for the Grey Hulk Com?

btw, what's the best way to get Stan Lee's autograph? and about how much does he/event charge?

Well , lets see.............

:monkey2 sorry buddy,

Well I sold off a bunch of stuff around x-mas, hot toys blade and king leo, and ironman mark 3 bd, as well as a few others, but non bothered me except for my mib platoon charle sheen, I still got barnes and kinda regret selling sheen cause they go together and was a pretty cool figure:(

Yes I have sold many things I wished I didn't. All my misb g1 transformers collection, gi Joe 25th collection, motu classics collection, and my vintage voltron collections. I have also sold away most of my comics then having to go back and buy back a lot of the things mention. I'm a person who can't make up my mind. When I get bored I move onto another collection only to want the things I had back later. As for statues I've only been collecting for a year and had thought about quitting. Then the week goes by I love my statues. So for now I'm staying here. As far as statues I've only sold a predator. I have no regrets yet. I do have a few I'm selling but I'm keeping 95% of the ones I already own. I do have a DCD catwoman I don't think I will regret getting rid of. :wink1: she is a great statue.

I sold off my Sideshow Weta Balrog back in the day. It was my favorite statue, but my wife and I were trying to save up money for our first house. I loved everything about the statue (I had bought it directly from Sideshow) and it was perfect. I never thought I would sell it, but when prices started climbing past $2000, I knew it had to be done. It was very heart wrenching, but soon after the sale, we were able to purchase our first home. I still think that I will eventually get it back in my collection. With the internet these days, I now try to look at things as more of a "temporary parting" since many things can usually be found with enough patience.

I think the only piece that I've ever sold and regretted was the SSC Spider-Man vs. Sandman vs. Venom dio from SM3. It was (if memory serves correctly) my first SSC piece. I sold it years back and then found myself missing it in the collection once again. Consequently, it's the only piece I've sold, only to buy back. :lol

I really miss my Predator 2 Elder life size bust I had.

when SS eventually does their own Balrog, you won't miss it so much.

I've never sold off anything I've really regretted. My case is more of the things I've passed up buying in the past. Oh well

King Kong Armature :monkey2

I feel you on this one!

I've sold a lot of my collection over time, and while it is difficult when actually selling it, once it ships out it doesn't bother me much any more. If this was a perfect world and I had plenty of space and money, then I would never sell anything. Most of the stuff I have sold was just sitting in its box in storage anyway, so...

Totally agree with you on this point.

Couldn't agree more, I have noticed this alot in many threads.......anyway, never sold anything statue wise yet, I do sell other stuff on evilbay, just as a way to help support this $$$$ hobby.

Best way to get Stan's signature is to go to a comic convention he is attending. Wizard World has Stan appearing at most of their cons. Try and find the closest WW Con to you. If you don't purchase a Stan Lee VIP pass, be prepared to wait in line quite awhile for his signature. A VIP pass is over $200.

His signature is $50 per item. The Con usually charges around $30 for admission per day. However, you can pick up packages for multiple days at a discount. Also, WW usually gives you a small discount if you buy a one day pass in advance of the con.

Darth Talon PF Ex.

Gorgeous statue, but I needed the money, will need the shelf space in the future, and I have no real love for the character anyway. Made three times what I paid for it, so...
