I dont know about the iPhone but my Droid's screen is the toughest thing I have ever seen. It rides in my pocket with my knife and the only scratches are on the paint of the phone. I thought for sure the screen would go but not a dent.

Yeah have been boarding and jumping ship on every new phone it seems. :lol However, I didn't expect Verizon to sweeten the pot like that.

It also seems that I have inadvertantly figured out how to award one self with a phone upgrade should they still be under contract. :lol

IE Pay to leave your contract early. Move to another carrier for a few weeks. Then call them and tell them you want to come back. And viola! You have an upgraded phone!

Yeah, there is a lot more work involved as far as setting up when compared to the iPhone, it's definitely not something I'd recommend to everybody. If I do go through with this purchase, I pray to God that family and friends don't take it as a sign that they should get an Android phone too. I'd rather blow my brains out than become the community tech support for this platform.
 
You are able to order droids from the website. Not sure when they went up. Get them before they go on back order! :rock
 
Reviews are saying the stuff Motorola did to the OS on the Droid X really make it bad, perhaps at this moment it'd be good to wait to get it until after they update to Android 2.2

It's a pretty fugly interface, especially compared to the iPhone. From what understand though, is that everything on Android can be customized, so if you like screwing around with settings and stuff, you should be able to change it to your liking.

In other Droid news, the Droid X is sold out at Verizon's web site. It's now labeled as "Ships by 7/23".
