I've gone thru 4 Cap shields before finally being able to acquire one of Chris Fields shields and I highly doubt it can get any better than his without stealing one from the set.

Re: Thor Hammer

Regarding the Thor Hammer on Sideshow. The Specs kind of make sound like a good collectible :

"Crafted from aged steel, features a wood handle, and is finished with aged, harness grade leather. Includes a custom wood base that displays the hammer at the same angle it was found when first discovered on Earth"

Price is a bit to high. If it was cheaper maybe I would get it.

My Cap shield history in the past 6 months. I'm FINALLY satisfied with the one I own and don't see the need to ever get another one short of anything made of actual Vibranium.

First attempt at a movie shield, hand painted and the dimensions just didn't please me.

Second attempt, candy coated paint job, with updated dimensions. VERY beautiful shield that would make a majority of people happy but it just didn't have that "je ne sais quoi" I wanted

Third and final attempt, "Chris Fields" shield and it's the one I've always wanted:rock Just perfect all around

Actually I think Cap's shield is made of a unique alloy of Adamantium and Vibranium, and not just Vibranium.

True. But as this is the movie version, then Vibranium would be correct as that is all that is mentioned

Most likely because adamantium is obviously used in the X-Men. Would Fox object do you think?

I don't know if they would object. Frankly, I think they have no right to, since it's Marvel's word, and not theirs. I think perhaps the reason why they simply said Vibranium in the movie was to make it seem like a different material than Wolverines claws, which it is, and merely simplified the name, or dumbed it down for the average moviegoer.

You're probably right, and plus, any more lines and Domonic Cooper may have gone into a completely English accent.

Dunno if it's just me, but he was up n down in that movie.

Been looking at the dimentions for the hammerhead and is it just me or does it seem a bit small?

The dimensions seem to be about right. I ordered one, and the only thing that concerns me (from the pics) is the "V" pattern on the handle is showing on the outside. The actual movie hammer has the "V" on the inside of the handle. In another words, if the wide side of the head is facing you, the handle should be showing straight lines not the V's.

It looks too small to me.

I think he's talking about the pics of the Factory X one which is a comic replica and not from the movie.

No, he's definately right about the movie Mjolnir

If you look at the picture below, you can see what he means about the handle, the stripes are the wrong way. It's a minor quibble and not something in bothered about, but he is right

having said that, i'd have to watchthe film to see if this changes, they said inthe extras that they screwed the handle onto different heads, perhaps they were never always alligned the same way?

Of course I'm talking about the movie hammer, it's the only hammer that has the "V" pattern on the handle. The Factory X has a "barber pole" for a handle.
