So I finally bit and threw a PS3 on layway and will have it shortly sooo what are some of the absolute must haves for Blu-Ray? Also, anyone want to point me to where I can get a nice HD TV for a good price too? It's time to totally upgrade.

There's a lot I could reccomend, but some recent ones would certainly be Hellboy II and Wall-E for sure. VERY good looking movies.

Yea I was thinking off the top of my head DEF Wall-E, Iron Man, Hulk. Not sure what else though. Do I NEED a TV though that is at 1080p or can I get by with a 720p?

You can get the Blade Runner 5 disc set for less than $30. I heard it's a good movie. :monkey3

If you have a 42 inch or lower then probably no. However, if you have a huge screen and sit very close then it might not be a bad idea.

Id say Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy for sure, the environments in the caribbean looks beautiful in HD.So if you havent seen a blu-ray movie before Pirates is the perfect first-time experience. If you buy one of them take one of the first 2,as the last one was mostly in dark environments.

Transformers is also something you have to see,the part of the movie when the 5 Autobots drove out of sector 7 base and over the desert...Very beautiful!

Any animation movie is a must to watch,im not gonna say which one is better because i didnt care when i first got PS3,i just bought TMNT on blu-ray to check the quality, and expected good picture, but not THIS good, youll be surprised how good Animation is in HD.

Yea Im looking between a 32 and 36, in that area. They seem to be the most affordable during this season and plus it's most likely staying in my room so has to be managable :lol

the 720p or 1080p depends on your budget - but if you can find a way to afford a 1080p set, I would definately go in that direction.

Wall-E, TDK, Pirates, Hellboy II and Transformers are must have blu-ray titles.

haha well budget wise, the PS3 and new TV are taking the place of the Macbook I was going to get. I'll just tough it out with a PC for a while longer. :lol

And how can i forget this:

"Who ayyyooo?!"

One of the first movies i bought on Ray:lol

There has been a lot of research done on this and at that size the human eye can't even tell the difference. So I wouldn't worry about it. ;)

KOTCS, Batman Begins, Iron Man, Wall-E and Hellboy II.... must own flicks. Also, I highly recommend Predator and Halloween... I cannot believe they brought those films to insanely crisp levels despite age. :rock

that is true,32-37 you wont see a difference if its 1080i,720p or 1080p.You will notice this on bigger tv`s,just do some research and check out the tv yourself before you buy.I have a LG 1080i 60 Hertz tv that is over 2 years old now and have only 1 hdmi so i will have to upgrade mine soon.

My tv has a better picture than a buddy of mine that has a 32" Samsung that is 720p.

Casino Royale. The different locations, the beach, the dusty chase, train through the mountains....really shows off the clarity of HD.
