KOTCS, Batman Begins, Iron Man, Wall-E and Hellboy II.... must own flicks. Also, I highly recommend Predator and Halloween... I cannot believe they brought those films to insanely crisp levels despite age. :rock

I picked up Halloween at Bestbuy for $5.50 a couple weeks ago with a coupon. Damn nice for the price.:rock:rock:rock

720p will look great with Blu-Ray. Not as much as 1080 but you will see a vast improvement.

And Nightmare Before Christmas is amazing on Blu-Ray.

Ok then with regards to the new TV, what are the sort of things I need to be on the lookout for? Let's say im going with a 720p.

Anyone that says otherwise must have Superman type eyes. :lol

Yep, I think 42" is supposed to be the cut-off for justifying a 1080p upgrade.

In the bedroom we have a 26" 720p/1080i and the picture looks very nice in HiDef.

Maybe this will help.

hmm... here's my must own list:
Blade Runner
Band of Brothers (sound is incredible)
Batman Begins
Incredible Hulk
Planet Earth
Wall E
Pirates of the Caribbean series
Spiderman series

Maybe this will help.

Yeah, I've got a 28" 1080p monitor and can definitely tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, but I'm like 2 feet away.

But things look really nice on my parent's 32" 720p TV.

Although just to point out--lots of place have good deals on 1080p TV's right now, I think I saw one in an advertisement (tigerdirect or newegg) for a 42" 1080p for $800.

The good ones have already been mentioned--

Serenity and Firefly will be out on Blu-Ray next month. Cloverfield looks great if you can stand the shaky cam.
