Well, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Personally, I like the Vader and that's all that matters to me. Screen accuracy, as I've said earlier in this thread, doesn't mean squat to me. Most people are complimentary enough to actually enjoy these types of things without nit-picking. To each their own.

,....glad you are happy!!,..that's really what matters!!,..
,....personally it would bother me,...principally with lifesize statues,..as i would want it to be the most accurate as possible!,.... :D

,..still an awesome collection brotha!!,..:chew

Holy Cow, Brent Nice collection. SO how long did it take you to find all those Star wars 1:1?

Obviously I want my life-size pieces to look somewhat close to the screen costumes, but you can drive yourself absolutely CRAZY trying to achieve 100% screen accuracy. In fact, some would say it can't be done as the only "screen accurate" costumes were the ones worn in the actual films. A lot of those guys over at The RPF are absolutely insane when it comes to this stuff and they seemingly spend their entire lives putting these costumes together. Since I'm not a craftsman whatsoever, building my own life-size pieces is completely out of the question and that's why I've always collected the licensed LFL replicas. Aside from the fact that I think they look good and are impressive display pieces, they're all numbered out of only 500 and up to this point have either held or appreciated in value. If I ever need to liquidate my collection at least I know I'll be able to get some decent money out of them.

,....good that you are happy,..,,,i'm the builder type and wouldn't mind building my own if it would give me muuuuch more acuracy in the end,.......this is one exemple of the level of accuracy I'm talking about,...from a replica forum poster,..,,..

,...it is as accurate as it gets in the replica world,.....

,....sometimes pays off to build your own and end up with something accurate as this,..... when i do my vader dooooowwwwnnnn the road,...that's the route i will choose,.....

Well, as I said before, I have zero building skills so a project like that is completely out of the question for me. Besides, even if I had the ability to do it, the sheer amount of time necessary would be a prohibitive factor. I'm always impressed by the people that are able to do stuff like this, but it's just not in the cards for me. I'm perfectly happy with what I've got and thankfully I don't have the "screen accurate" bug the way others do.

I'm glad I don't have the driving need some people have about things being exactly screen acuarte either. I think Vader and the Stormtrooper look cool as hell.

Hey Brent,
Do you have a pic with a real person standing beside him? I bet that would put Vader into perspective. I'd love to see him and the Stormtrooper beside each other!

Well, Vader was my very first life-size SW replica and even though he's not 100% screen accurate I still think he looks pretty damn impressive. Honestly, I don't think that picture does the statue justice as it looks much better in person.

I do have a picture somewhere around here of a person standing next to Vader and if I can dig it up I'll scan it and post. Also, if I get crazy I might try to move the trooper over next to him for a photo, but I can't guarantee it. Anyway, I'll definitely be looking for that picture over the weekend and hopefully I'll find it. Cheers!

Just a quick heads up to anyone who is interested. Brian's Toys is currently offering the Don Post life-size C-3PO and R2-D2 statues on eBay along with a Stormtrooper like the one I just bought. Their starting bids are completely INSANE, but I just thought I'd let everyone know they were up for auction if you wanted to check them out as the 3PO and R2 statues are rarely offered for sale. It will be very interesting to see how Sideshow's versions of these characters turn out compared to the Don Post pieces. One thing's for sure, they will definitely be cheaper and that's always a good thing.

Well, that didn't take long. The C-3PO auction has already ended early. Guess someone worked out a deal for it outiside of eBay. I'm just wondering if they paid full price. :google

Awesome collection of 1:1 pieces. I went the armor / mannequin route...cost me about $1200 all in, but I am very happy with the results. The added bonus is that if I ever really want to, I can wear the armor!! :chew

Thanks, man. Honestly, I never would've imagined that I'd be able to amass a collection of these life-size statues, but everything has somehow worked out for the best and I feel very fortunate to have these things in my collection. Thanks again to you and everyone else for your compliments on my statues and it's my pleasure to share the pics with all my fellow collectors. :)

Very nice looking trooper and great overall display, Darth.

Thanks!! I had a really hard time finding a mannequin that was posed like a Stormtrooper should be…in the end I used a flexible mannequin, wire frame under padding. It’s very light, and can be posed in a lot of different ways. It cost a lot more than a standard fiberglass mannequin, but I think the results were worth it.

My trooper and display of prop replicas are in my basement home theater / TV room. It fits the motif and I love watching movies on my “big screen” with a Trooper over my shoulder!
