The latest Sideshow 12" figure for their Lord of the Rings license is Boromir, the only member of the Fellowship to die. And stay dead. He might not be the favorite character in the entire story for most fans, but he's definitely the finest 12" figure based on this license that Sideshow - or anyone, for that matter - has produced so far. He's a bit more colorful in costume than the other figures as well, lending some pizzazz to the display.

Good review, but I thought you'd mention the micro detail embossing on the leather straps. The exclusive is definitely a 4 star figure for me.

Nice review! Definetely the best LOTR 12" from sideshow to date!

Not to belittle Boromir cuz he's a great figure, but sadly the LOTR line is too small to give "best of" status much credibility just yet, I'd say he's a great stride in the advancement of this line.

I was just comparing him to Leggy and Aragorn! But I agree, each new figure is better than the previous one. I hope sideshow keeps up the pattern!

I know who you were comparing him to, that was more and expression of, I'm happy with where this line's been going, can it get there faster :)

Boromir is definately a 4 star figure for me. Just my opinion, but seems like your awful low on the SST LOTR figs. Looking through your reviews on your site you've graded other companies 1/6th scale LOTR figs just as high as SST and in my humble opinion they shouldnt even be close. Hope no offense taken.

nice review as always. and i completely agree...boromir is the best of the bunch so far. can't wait to see faramir.

Great review... I have to admit I'm getting a bit concerned that I haven't gotten a conversion for this figure yet. I have to get that Orc head... hopefully I'll be saved from having to eBay the exclusive.

Great and fair review as usual. I must have gotten lucky with the hair because mine looks very nice and more realistic than in the review pics. I didn't like the sticky tape on the dagger either. And to me, Boromir just doesn't look right without a cloak. He really should have had his other one included in both editions. The Orc head is the highlight for me. I just love Sideshow's severed heads and I believe I have them all. I seriously need to take a group shot of them all. :lol

I too have wondered about that hole in some of the severed heads. They don't fit on any pikes (besides Vlad's) so I don't know why they are there. Anyone got an "offical" explanation? That white plastic visable is the only down side of the otherwise awesome orc head.

I'd assume the hole is there for the reason I mentioned in the review - to allow the hand painting of the head. They have to mount it somehow to paint it, but it would have been nice if it had gotten a touch of red up inside the hole as a final step.

Boromir is on the truck and out for delivery as I type this----- (along with his buddies Legolas and Aragorn)....:monkey5

That is a very likely explanation, but the thing is that not all of the severed heads have that little hole. So I guess the question now is, why on some and not on others? Yes, painting up that hole really would have been nice.

Actually I find Boromir the most human and interesting character of the lot.
