And even if it's in the past, it's a big thing. You can't just sweep it underneath the rug. Now I'm starting to think your uncle isn't criticizing your collection just because you choose to spend your money on figures, he's probably criticizing you for the way you go about it. Whether you steal or don't steal anymore is irrelevant. You did it and the universe eventually had to come give you what for. Tell him off or accept the consequences. Even if I'm wrong and your uncle isn't doing this because of theft, it seems to me like indirect karmic punishment.

It's tickling that you go off on us for giving logical advice (and reacting reasonably to possible reasons why you may be in your situation) when you're the one making your problems public.
