My Hot Toys Hammer Drones idea.

At this point it's pretty obvious that the Hammer Drones were a pretty integral part of IM2,and many people want at least 1 interpretation of these monstrous mechs.I have an idea that could produce all 4 of them...in limited quantities of course.You have 4 different branches of military:Army,Navy,Marines,and Air Force.HT should choose 1 of the 4 branches for mass market release,the rest could be Convention exclusives.For example,The Army is the mass market release.You could have The Marines as the San Diego Con exclusive,The Air Force at the Tokyo Toy Show,and the Navy to be distributed through another con or market(Toy Hunters and Sideshow Exclusive,perhaps?)Anyway,tell me what you guys(and gals) think.

Sure, have fun pissing off countless fans who wouldn't be able to go to any of those events. What if they don't want the mass market one? Let's say the Army Drone was mass market, but everyone wanted the Air Force Drone which was a Tokyo exclusive?
I myself wouldn't care, because I would never shell out $170 for a simple Drone. But I know a lot of other people would be pretty disappointed.

Yeah geographical exclusives are never the answer. Not everyone whoe wants one can get one then. Either they make them and milk them for all they are worth by making all 4 or they don't make them at all.

What if they split the production run?Half the figures as Exclusives,half to be distributed throughout the rest of the world?Kind of like with Scarecrow and Bat Demon.

See, now that never made sense to me. Why release some to the masses and then release the exact same thing as an exclusive? It makes no sense.

Hey,it's just an idea.The reason for the regional exclusive idea is because I really can't see producing mass market runs for each when really,you can take a portion of the original run and after some slight modifications and a different paint op,they could divy them up and ship them out.I mean some is better than none,right?

Or just release them normally. No drama and more money for Hot Toys.

Or HT could release them all as some sort of Con EX so everyone will jump head long into the pre-order, lock up the servers and sell out in about 45 seconds... HT can then wait about a month or so after all the double price increase sales on Ebay and such. then suddenly release a second wave so all the waitlists convert...




Either way I would pick up each one of them.. I <3 me some drones...

Honestly this is one thing from Iron Man I could live without. I'd rather hope they're working on the Mark V, Whiplash V2, or Iron Monger.

How bout a Happy (favrou) fig? I'd totally buy that. Might even get 2, 1 as Happy, and the other as a homage as he's the main guy behind the success of IM

I would love a Happy and Pepper two pack with the 'football'. Purely because they are an important part of the movie universe (Pepper more than Happy)

I hate the idea of the convention exclusive drones, Gentle Giant did that with there clone trooper and I couldn't afford them because of the secondary market price hike. I was really into Gentle Giant before that and now I don't buy anything from them, plus the paint on there products are terrible and the poses they choose are very static and lame. I guess I have been spoiled by HT and there amazing paint apps and clothing tailoring.

I like Iron Man a lot, but I don't think I'd need Hammer Drones personally. I'd rather have Mark V, Mark II-IM2 update with Rhodey head , and Pepper Potts instead.
