At the moment just the Kit lens that came with the Canon 450D it does a great job for these kind of pics.

Well, great job!!! I'm working with a 500D and still learning the "ropes" of everything, but I'm having a blast. My photos aren't the best, but I'm definitely improving. I might be starting a similar thread like this to get some more advice, tips, etc.

Outside on tripod always ISO-100 to keep the pics clean, aperture F5.6 and F8 also being sure to check the histogram to see if they are over or underexposed.

I'm going to use your "formula" this weekend. I'm still trying to refine my technique so I'll let you know how I fair.

No probs and also let me say watch all the vids you can on youtube, there are some really awesome vids on there that will help you improve! they've helped me no end.

Right now, I take all my photos indoors and I'm REALLY struggling to get the lighting just right. I don't have a beautiful landscaping situation like where you're at. (The backgrounds in your photos really compliment everything well.)

Yeah i took all mine inside and they were ok but i don't have all the lighting some of the guys here do so moved to my garden & now i'm really happy with how they look.

They look incredible. VERY nice job.

The lighting in my place is horrible, so I've been experimenting with different light sources and positions. No luck, so far. I WILL get there though!
