yes, it was a refund/replacement claim. it's in a heavy duty garbage compactor bag. all i have to do with these is pick them up about 4-5 feet and drop them on cement. usually once maybe twice if they're really stubborn.

no it wasn't damage in transit, but the base had some issures.
talked to ssc and they said that they had no replacement base, so the other option was to destroy it to get a full refund or replacement.
so that's the reason for the excessive damage.
