Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Palpatine pg32

If anyone has some good reference pics of this guy, I'd appreciate it. I haven't been able to find much. There seems to be another color debate on whether his shirt is light blue or dark blue.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Palpatine pg32

After some google searches for "gotal star wars" and "feltipern trevagg" I'd have to say it's a medium blue. Also, the Hasbro figure (small scale) is a medium blue with a hint of grey. I'd go with that, if it were me.

Looking good Nate. I have been trying to source parts for the outfit, curious to see your solution for his vest. You planning on making one yourself? It looks like your sewing skills are improving. Good stuff.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Palpatine pg32

Made some progress on my Gotal "feltipern trevagg." I screwed up on the neck hole so I gotta go back a try to fix it :( Overall it turned out not too bad actually. Funny story - My original design called for the sides to be sewn up and I did. Then I went to put it on him and realized that its not going to work. There's no way to get it on him with the sides sewn up, so I had to put fasteners on the sides instead. Now I need to dye it and work on his belt. Going to give him a holster and blaster too...Just for show.
Oh yellow shirt was made from spandex so although it was pretty tight, I was able to squeeze it on him:)

Man, that looks great. Love the vest, you did an excellent job on it. He is coming along nicely.

Just finished Ventress! Ooooh yeah!

Crappy photos...again... :(

Lights off

Lights on

I try to take some better pics in the daylight. It gets dark here at 5PM so...

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Ventress pg35

The figure's looking nice. I don't know anything about this character, but I also completed a set of sabers for a client a few weeks ago - very nest set with the ability to join the two magnetically.

I've only got two saber-weilding figures of my own, I'm almost tempted to give some to Sandtroopers. ;) Looks amazing with one in each hand.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Ventress pg35

I actually made my own hilts like she has in the Clone Wars TV show, not the cartoon short. I did not make them with the ability to be joined as I don't recall her ever using them that way. I did however use a metal strip on the side so I can easily put a magnet behind her belt buckle and mount them there like in the show. I prefer the action pose though. I really like this pose taken from her duel with Anakin and Obiwan after Dooku betrayed her. Although I made her normal outfit, not the one paying tribute to the cartoon.

Wow, Nate! That's awwesome. I love the outfit. Very accurate to the show.

Dude she is freaking awesome! Outstanding!

And FYI, she did join them together in the Clone Wars movie when dueling Obi Wan at the monastery.

The G-man is spot on. Please post pic when you paint him up.

I keep forgetting about the movie and "stinky" lol. I gotta watch it again.

Thanks and yes I did sew it. Had a beer and a shot of bourbon after though. lol
The "quilted lines" were actually the easy part. That neck was a B/tch.

Thank you sir! Will do.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Ventress pg35

Hard to believe that the Clone Wars series is as awesome as it is after seeing the extreme kiddy aspects of the movie. I did get pretty "stinky" at times. haha

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Ventress pg35

Awesome job. It has given me some ideas for the 2 Gotal heads i have. Just a question how did you attach the arms. Was it just a cut and glue or have you made them so they can be moved to different positions.

I dremelled down the forearm on the body then drilled a hole in the resin arm so its a pressure fit. I don't plan to glue them since this allows me to rotate the resin arm for different positions. As is the bicep rotates and the forearm rotates too. He almost has full articulation, just no wrist bending.
