I don't hate Lebron. I just don't like what he's doing by turning the whole thing into a spectacle about himself and his ego.

ok,but whats the difference between this and what high school kids do when they have these giant press conferences about which school they are going to go? or college kids about whether they will go pro or not? This thing is huge, everyone is talking about it. He is only the biggest free agent in recent memory. It brings the spotlight on the NBA. I'm sure, if he chosses to leave Cle, he would want to try and explain to the city why he is leaving, its not like he hates the city or the ppl. I would think he would want them to know sincerely that this is about winning and thats it, and I dont think a little blip in the newspaper would be enough for them.

I realize that wherever Lebron chooses to play will have huge implications in the league & it's the big talk right now. But the man is supposed to be a professional. You didn't see any other athletes pulling stuff like this.

No matter who he chooses in all of this, whether it's NY, Chicago, Miami, or staying in Cleveland...it wouldn't have been a blip in a newspaper. Let's say Lebron chooses to leave Cleveland, how do you think Cleveland will take all of this to be played out on television. Everything has been carefully orchestrated up to this point. Lebron can be sincere all he wants, he'll be villified in the same manner as Art Modell. Remember he's a local guy...an athlete that comes once in a generation...that up and leaves the city & it's fans because he doesn't think they are good enough. Even the most craftful wording, wouldn't be able to save him and his legacy in Cleveland if thats to happen.

To your point, here's an excellent article about how humble Kevin Durant is.. He just signed a 5-year US$85-Million extension with the Thunder. No fuss! :clap

*Quoting Durant from the article:
"Oh, no!" said Durant, chuckling and shaking his head at the thought. "My situation is different from all those guys. Mine was a little easier. It didn't take all that stuff. I just wanted to keep it quiet. That's the kind of person I am." :exactly:
:clap:clap:clap

I like this kid.

:lol :lol :lol

Fortunately he will play with Wade, maybe he can pick up his instinct for the game.

** EDIT ** - I do feel for Byron Scott though. :(

Really...he picked Miami? My condolences to the city of Cleveland.

its still money that goes out to ppl less fortunate. There prolly using that as a reason to have it, but I know the LBJ haters will take any small thing to turn it into an insult towards him, which is fine.............

He is rich enough to have just given whatever money to charity and done this whole thing quietly. He is a drama queen plain and simple. The charity thing is just a smokescreen. This whole thing is pathetic and even more so since he is leaving Cleveland. What a complete ____ to do that to his hometown team. He doesn't owe them anything except maybe a classy exit, which this is not.
