no chance in hell. Wall would easily be 2nd right now, with Cousins in Sac coming in 3rd. Any further than that is up in the air

Of course there's no chance in hell. Because Griffin is going to win it.

MANY sports' analysts have Fields second due to Wall's inconsistent play on a crappy team.

We will see what happens by the end of the year.

Edit: I trust analysts that actually get paid for a living for their opinions over you:
https://insider.espn.go.com/nba/ins...ry?columnist=thorpe_david&page=Rookies-101214

If you don't have insider, you can't read it, but Landry is far and away 2nd. Leading all guards in rebounding, shooting over 50%, lowest turnover ratio for a SG, and a second round pick to boot.

Since the Spurs were just brought up, and I'm tired, he's another analyst's opinion:

yea cause analysts get ____ right most of the time :cuckoo:

the ROY award is practically a stat award. Being on a winning team doesnt mean shat. Wall and Cousins overall, have better stats than Fields, and theres couple more than that as well. The only award where winning matters is the MVP. Rookies arent supposed to play consistently, thats what makes them rookies. Fields isnt even top 10 in effiency and since when does shooting % mean squat? Wall is tops in TO's cause he has the ball all the time, thats to be expected.

LOL...the Nuggets are 23-16 and the Knicks are 22-17. Yeah, huge difference there.

So, you're basing the proven track records and the potential of the 2 franchises off of one incomplete season? The Knicks are the skidmarks of the East and have been for quite some time.

Granted they're playing less skidmarkish this season, good for them, but if 'Melo truly wants to win, he needs to stay in Denver. They've proven they are committed to winning. They just need Kobe and Duncan to retire before they can breakout.

And the Knicks routed Denver this year.

lol, "routed" ... they won by 4 pts, hardly a rout and The Nuggets beat the Knicks earlier in the year as well, so they split the season series. Im sorry but the whole, x beat y during the regular season therefore x > y is a crappy argument. But according to your theory I guess since the Clippers beat the Lakers, Spurs and Heat this year, I guess theyre better too?

yea, they also need D. Williams, Dirk, and Durant to retire too cause Denver isnt better than those teams at the moment either. If Melo truly wants to win, he will go to a team that is actually a contender. Ive been saying this from the beginning, Orl is the best fit for him and they have plenty of talent to trade. He goes there right now, that team is a title contender.

Are you serious with that comment? Lol, now I see why you get into so many flame wars on this site...

Sorry, but I think I'll decide to value an opinion from someone that gets paid for their analysis and journalism over someone that showcases their journalism on a sideshow message board.
:lol:lol:lol

We'll see what the final tally is...

And Jstep, the Knicks have been crappy for a long time, no question about that. Funnily enough, however, they've accomplished as much as the Nuggets have accomplished in the past two decades i.e. nothing.

The teams ARE even AT THIS POINT IN THE SEASON.

Melo going to N.Y. would easily make the Knicks a better team than the Nuggets.

Nuggets would be okay with moving backwards if they receive draft picks. They want to rebuild and save money. Thats why I don't see them being interested in veterans and think if they can't get 1 or more 1st rd picks then the best plan is to simply let Melo walk so they can pick their players through free agency. They will take a very young player, but they don't want to add anyone making a lot of money.

The "saving money thing," I understand. But the three who's names continue to be mentioned are all extremely young. Now many sites have the Nets likely to get him.

Who knows...
:lol

If the Nuggets can get Derrick Favors and a draft pick or 2, then that is a steal. The Nuggets want to dump a couple of salaries like Al Harrington (why the Nuggets signed him only to now want to dump him is beyond me) and I think thats part of the hold up.

flame wars with who? jstep? yea, im really crying myself to sleep over that . Thats fine if you value someone elses opinions over mine, but its funny how thats the only way you say Fields is even in the discussion for the ROY award, cause the analysts say he is. Its a stat award, prove otherwise..............and he aint got em.

Harrington is a cancer. Favors is a good player, so I could definitely see him helping out.

Be careful with that word or Charlie V will go on Twitter and say you called Harrington a cancer patient :lecture

He's not the leading rebounder at the guard position in the NBA? That's not a stat?

He's not averaging 10 points, 7+ boards, and only a turnover a game?

He's not shooting 51% in field goals(which is a HUGE NBA statistic and if you don't consider fg% to be important, you're an idiot)?

Fields also plays air tight defense.

I say he is in the DISCUSSION because of his skills at the SG position. Analysts say he's in the discussion because they obviously see the SAME THINGS THAT I DO.

You don't see it because...well...hell, I have no idea why you don't see it. Troll some more, open your eyes, etc. Do what you need to do to realize he's one of the top 3 rookies in the league. Not better than Griffin, no. But sure as hell there's an argument for being right after him.

Oh yeah, and I value a paid NBA journalist's opinion over yours, yes.

As would 99% of the world.
:slap

i have a stick up my ass? i state my opinion and you call me an idiot and a troll :lol (how original :slap) How many seasons have you been in the NBA thread, or this board for that matter, and I'm a troll?

first of all, how you round up 10.1 points to 11 is beyone me. And i will take your 10 pts a game and 7 rebounds a game and raise you 15 pts a game and 9 assists a game with Wall. Leading SG's doesnt mean much, if he was leading ALL guards in several stats, then maybe, but Wall has him beat in points, assists, blocks, steals, and effiency. Yea, FG % is important, but it doesnt win guys awards. I would like to know what makes him a air tight defender, cause that team doesnt know the meaning of defense. The only thing i would agree with you on is he is probably 3rd as rookies overall when i look at everything again, but just cause he is fortunate to be on a team with good players, doesnt make him the 2nd best rookie.

the only reason why you see it the same way as the analysts is because you heard it from them first, but hey, keep the insults coming, it shows what kind of person you are. Its all good :wave

You cannot compare a team who plays in the much more competitive west with a team that plays in the lame duck east and say that because they have the same record they are the same.

I never called you an idiot. I said if you didn't think FG% was important, then "you're an idiot."

A troll? Yes. Since I've explained numerous times that I'm obviously not the only one with the opinion on Fields being a top rookie in the league.

You then post a "loony" smiley(or did you forget that?).

You "attacked" my opinion first. You don't have to like it, but when analysts are saying the EXACT SAME THING THAT I AM, yet you refuse to see any substance in the argument, then I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish?
:dunno

No. The reason I see it the same way as the analysts is because I've watched every Knick game this year, whether in person or on television.

As a Knicks' fan, it's clear there may have been some bias in my opinion, but seeing MANY educated journalists say the same thing I've been saying only served to ENFORCE my beliefs.

Oh, and he leads ALL GUARDS in rebounds...not just SG's.

And now the Knicks have "good players?" Lmao.

And before you were SO SURE that he was behind Griffin, Wall, and Evans, but have changed your opinion after "looking over everything again?"
:lol

Maybe if you look over everything a second time, you will change your opinion again.
