I hate the moves the Celtics made and I really don't understand what Danny Ainge was trying to accomplish here. He says the trades make them a better team. How exactly? They now have no defensive presence down low and also take a hit in the rebounding department.

He also said the trades were good for the future of the franchise. I don't get that statement either. It's not like they traded for two young players that will be with them for the next several years. Unless he thinks he's going to strike gold with the two 2nd rounds picks they also acquired :huh

This franchise should not be worrying about 4 or 5 years down the road, they should be concentrating on winning as many championships as possible while the window is still open.

Before the trade, I thought the celtics were a shoe-in to make the NBA finals. After this trade, the east is now a toss-up. I think the window may have just closed for the Celtics.

:exactly: :goodpost:

Danny Ainge will argue that they got Paul Pierce's eventual successor in Jeff Green, and they had to trade Perkins rather than risk losing him for nothing in free agency. I disagree. I think if the C's kept Perkins and won the championship, even if he later leaves as a free agent, it was worth it.

I absolutely agree with what you said. Boston sports radio is still buzzing about this and it has not been fun listening. I liked Perk, but with some of the callers you'd think they traded Larry Bird in his prime. Everyone has good memories of '08, but they can't keep everyone from that team together forever.

Of course I say that and the radio rumor of the moment is Leon Powe coming back.:thud:

I bet. Sports radio is bad enough on its own, and I can't imagine how bad it is in a region where the teams are contenders.

I live in the Metropolitan DC area, and all we have are the Wizards, Redskins, and Nationals. We have the Capitals, but I'm not a hockey fan.

Pretty unbearable at times. You would think that the Red Sox play 162 World Series games. The Patriots can't be questioned on anything they do. The Celtics and Bruins mostly get ignored, but on a day like this with no Sox news they'll run with the Celtics over talking hockey.

I would kill to have the kind of interest in the media for baseball here in Denver that you get in Boston. Here it's Broncos 24/7.

the rockies need to find a couple big bats to start knocking the cover off the ball, that'll put ***** in seats :lecture

1) the rockies have a couple of big bats named Carlos Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki.
2) they have a very respectable attendance, 10th in the league.

the problem isn't the lack of a good team or lack of fan base (though obviously Broncos fans dominate the town). its more of a lack of knowledgable and interested media people. we have a lot of old guard radio people who were here before the Rockies were even a team and they never really picked it up as well as the fans have.

It's not ova yeeeeetttttttttt!!!!!

Edit: Maybe it is.

Edit X2: Amazing. We call a timeout. And the magical game saving play we call is a 3 by Stoudamire?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I hope D'Antoni breaks his own legs.

Disgusting display tonight, how does anyone lose to the Cavs..

Because we don't play defense.

Because Turiaf is a bench player playing in a starting role.

Because D'Antoni doesn't play defense.

We need time to gel, this much is true, but that's no excuse for allowing the worst team in the league to score 115 points. Ad oh, by the way, those "scrub players" we traded away to Denver?

Gallo scored 30 - 7- 9 yesterday night for Denver. Chandler scored 20.

George Karl > Mike Damphony

You could replace George Karl with ANY NBA coach >
